Ticket prices

You know what I think ticket prices are doing? They've actually deflated the cost of going to races to where you don't have to spend your entire savings account to go. This means more locals are going now that they can afford to go and it's something to do on a Sunday afternoon and can get seats last minute at a reasonable price. Both Daytona and California had a huge burst of last-minute ticket sales.

This is a good thing for NASCAR - beginning to get back to the basics of racing.

I think weather's had a big affect. people dont want to travel to a race if they don't know if it'll get rain delayed. Leaves ALOT of open seats for them locals to pop in that morning.

and I don't think cheap tickets will last once this economy shows any kind of up swing those tickets will go right back up.

I've had season tickets at Bristol for years, but decided not to renew because people were buying tickets cheaper than what I was paying for mine. Plus, I get stuck with dumping Nationwide tickets (and losing money on them). But I actually got in on the $17 ticket deal Atlanta was doing last week with one regular ticket price. So I got two tickets for $60 each, good seats. If the weather looks to be cold, I'll sell them and go to Bristol instead.

Agreed. I normally end up stuck with Nationwide tickets when I really don't need 'em.

It'd be awesome if 30 Cup drivers didn't run the Nationwide races - I might stick around and watch then.

Sucks for those of us who already paid full price for our tickets last Fall. Well, paid the so-called "discounted" rate since we got a bit off, but not a lot. Paid the same for pit passes. I'll be wanting something "extra" if they start selling the seats I paid for a lot less. Too bad that won't happen though. Blah.
