Here kitty, kitty, kitty
Tickets for the annual T. Wayne Robertson Winston Cup Preview will go on sale this coming Saturday, and for the first time wristbands for the autograph sessions of 14 featured drivers will be distributed based on when tickets are purchased. (Winston Salem Journal)
If anyone is going to attend the Preview and want to get an autograph of any of the following: Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Kurt busch, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Rusty Wallace, Matt Kenseth, Dale Jarrett, Ricky rudd, Bobby Labonte, Bill Elliott, Kyle Petty and Dale Earnhardt Jr., you might want to consider getting your tickets at Ticketmaster or by calling the Joel Coliseum box office at (336) 725-5635. The Preview will be held Saturday, Jan. 18. Wristband distribution will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17.
This is a real fun event, but in recent years, I feel it has gone a bit down hill. The crowds have gotten bigger and the interesting booths have gotten smaller. However, it's always fun at the autograph session watching the various people in their "colors" and waiting to get that autograph. They always put the cars in their new colors in one building and you can walk around them and take pictures of the new stuff. Again, that place can get really crowded, especially in the morning. Later in the day is the prime time to go there.
There is one building that houses a bunch of souvineer booths, but most of these are the independants and as I've said, they have been getting thinner and thinner each year. The last couple of years, there have been a few souvineer haulers of some drivers parked outside the building.
If you come, dress accordingly. Sometimes it is shirt sleeve weather, while other times, it's as cold as a witch's...well you know what I mean.
Oh yeah, tix are $15. Enjoy
