9 points. Mark capitalized on Sterling's, Jeff's, and Tony's misfortunes. Most every year that's precisely what the champion does. Some of y'all were writing him off. I'm ready to put granny's engagement ring on his chances myself.

Loudon should be extremely interesting...despite itself. :)

Once again. Loudon BLOWS.

As far as the points races goes I'd love to see Jeff with it of course but if he can't win then I'd love to see Bill Elliott sneak up in there and take the whole thing. They'd be partying in Dawsonville for sure!:)

...is the most that can be made up per race which means that even Rusty Wallace has a shot at leaving Louden with the lead.

It just don't get much better.

The closer the better, I would like the last race to determine the champion. leave us all in suspense. Right now I would say its up for grabs.

Yepperz................love just how this season is going, down to th wire! :satisfied

What would be real nice is to have about five or six drivers within 20 points of each other going into the last race. That would be something else.

It might get more interesting this weekend with Sterling Marlin being in pain to the point where he can not get in a car. He says he is racing this weekend but a driver in pain = bad performance. It looks like Martin, Johnson, or Jeff Gordon will have the points lead by the end of the weekend.

If that is indeed the case, I look for it to be Martin, with Poo in hot pursuit. I still say Johnson will fade...

Six drivers within a one race striking distance, no one seems to be able to sustain a hot streak, should be interesting for sure. With ten races left anyone in the top ten could easily run to the front given the right cicumstances, certainly larger deficits have been overcome in fewer races.

For some fans, bad news. By my calculation any driver currently 33rd or higher in the points standing is mathematically eliminated from the chase.
