A good read (medium to long) about a driver that many may remember and many are too young to remember.

Tim was one of a kind. I vividly remember his tantrum during the Southern 500 when Bill became Million Dollar Bill. To say he was hot under the collar would be like saying Jaws is a little annoying.

On a more somber note, a friend of my wife contracted AIDS from Tim. Kinda drives the whole thing home a little.

To my sorrow, I never got to see Tim race in person. I do have several old races when he and Dale were beating and banging on each other. Tim was the only driver that I ever saw out-Earnhardt the Big E.

I regret that Tim's wild side led to his death --- truly, a great talent utterly wasted.

Tim died of complications related to AIDS
