People came out in droves to see the shuttle at various points along the route. A lot or residents were pissed off that some 400 trees in several communities were cut down to allow the Endeavour to pass through their towns. Our line crews were also out along the route to remove, re-route and reconnect power lines. Many people complained about the 4-6 hour power outages as a result.
Incidently, security crews were a little lax when several of them stepped away from their posts near South Central L.A., to grab some quick Starbuck's

As a peace offering -- I guess -- Houston did get the life-size training mock-up used by astronauts. Supposedly the public will be able to access it, whereas the real shuttles you can only look at.
