Do FOX and NBC take it in turns to show the daytona 500?, I read somewhere that fox will be showing the last race from miami as well as NBC.

Yes, FOX and NBC alternate the Daytona 500. I do not know about the last race at Miami, but that is NFL season, so I am not sure about FOX showing the race.
