They seem to do it quite often in the Busch series, but this is only my 3rd year going to Gateway and I'm not sure if they have done it that way down there in the past?

Back when the BGN cars ran small tracks like Orange Co. Speedway and South Boston speedway on Saturday night they practiced in the morning, qualified after lunch, practice in afternoon and raced (usually) at 8 pm. The only time motors were changed was if they poped one.
