NASCAR Asks For Date Swap
The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reports that NASCAR officials have approached Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage about a possible date swap for the 2006 Samsung/RadioShack 500 Nextel Cup race. The event is currently scheduled for April 9, one week after the Advance Auto Parts 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Gossage said Fox Network officials would like Texas and Martinsville to swap dates, so the Texas race will not air in competition with the Masters - one of golf's biggest tournaments. Gossage said no decision has been reached, but he expects the schedule to be finalized within the coming weeks, the paper says.(Scene Daily)
