When "E" Talks, They Listen
The Texas Motor Speedway has a bit of a bump in the road. And apparently it will be tended to very shortly.
During the Dickies 500 in November, 2006, race number 34 of the 36 in the NASCAR season, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. publicly pointed out the bump over the tunnel saying, "That'll hold this track back until they fix it".
Track president Eddie Gossage couldn't understand why Earnhardt, Jr., had waited until the November race to voice his opinion when they had just been there in April and not a word was said. Could it have been that the November race was a Chase race? And the seventh one in the line up?
Once Earnhardt, Jr., made his statement, others followed behind with comments on that part of the track being labeled a "huge hole"(Jimmy Johnson) and a "very violent bump" (Denny Hamlin).
Gossage has scheduled the work to be done this week sometime, expecting it to take only a few days.
