The decision to move 2005 Nextel Cup race dates from two tracks in the Carolinas to facilities in Fort Worth, Texas, and Phoenix will apparently be announced Friday morning at a news conference in Richmond, Va.
Sources told The Observer Wednesday that "realignment" will be the topic of the session at Richmond International Raceway, where the NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup series will race this weekend. Speed Channel said it would interrupt its programming between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. to carry the news conference live.
