I don't know if this topic has been discussed, but I'm not on here as much as many of you.

I was bored by the commentary while watching TNT. There seemed to be a lot of pauses in their comments, rambling on by Kyle & Wally? And honestly, I really enjoy Chris Myers, DW, Hammond & MW. I even like the ESPN crew with Nicole, Rusty etc.

I'm just not a fan of the TNT broadcast, not sure how everyone else on here feels about it?

Here's to hoping they get in the groove soon.
I tell you though, there were so many commercials, I can hardly remember any commentary.

The audio was screwed up early the race. For the most part, they covered the leaders. There was alot of racing they missed from about 8th on back. Im not one to normally complain about commercials, but dear lord. I felt like I was in my advertising class just analyzing commercials with pieces of the race in between. One of these races im going to time ad time vs race coverage. As for the commentating, I think the info they provided as former drivers was good, just wish there was more of it.

I pay almost 200 dollars a month for Direct -tv, I refuse to watch commercials for an hour to see a race. I watch a lot of races on Sunday so there isnt time to waste watching ANY commercials, its fast-forward time. No side by side crap either.

Why do people complain about DW ??? now we have Kyle Petty

why is larry mac allowed to work for TNT but not DW?

Your complaints are the same things everybody says about Fox. It's basically the same product, just different names and faces on the air.

Maybe its just me but I do not like this commentary group.... Adam Alexander is a TV show host and shouldn't be "play by play". And I am sorry to those fans but I like drivers in commentary positions that have actually had some success in the sport to provide merit to their comments. Kyle Petty has at least won races and been around NASCAR his entire life but has Wally ever won a race in any level of NASCAR?

have to admit the lap at Pocono with the cameras on the gas pedal were cool

Wally is the only one of the 3 i do like. he makes sense to me. no he's never won, came in 2nd at a road course. at least he's not about himself like DW. i guess it's just like with drivers, everybody not gonna like the same one

As if TNT's coverage would be anything but craptastic. It was terrible last year. It was terrible the year before that. And the year before that. And the year before that. With the same broadcast crew and the same production crew, a network that has way too many commercials on everything they air and a network that isn't returning next year (and didn't want to return this year), did anyone really think it would somehow be better this year?

They missed some passes for the lead and cautions while at commercial.

Andy doesnt like any race coverage. Dont mind him

This is a great thread. Now everyone has been warned and knows what to expect for the rest of the races.:D

Yes I have. Have you seen their nascar coverage? Put a million commercials in 3/4 of the race to have less towards the end. Cant wait o_O

Different parent company, different production crew, different EP, different management at NBC Sports, different broadcast crew... everything at NBC Sports is different now.

Adam Alexander and Kyle sound so boring.

I like Wally.

This is all based off of years past, because I was on the road yesterday and listened to it on MRN. That was great listening.

I honestly think part of people not watching these days is the damn commentators. NASCAR used to be really good in that department. It would be nice if TV said hell with the commentators and just played MRN/PRN feeds on TV. Would make it sound much more exciting, lol.

I think we'll see just as many if not more commercials on NBC. Gotta recoup that $4.4 billion investment somehow. I know that much of that will come through subscriber fees, but much of it will come through ad revenue as well.

One thing that doesnt change are the number of tv spots to pay for it all. Media analysis crew makes that up, not NBC. But if it going to be so different, how can you be sure it will be spectacular?

We may see better race coverage while on air, but commercials will still rise.

I don't care who announces, just trying to watch the race live around all the commercials is the challenge. I spend more time watching the leaderboard on the puter during commercials than being able to actually watch the race on the tube.

NASCAR is also the most watched thing NBCSN will have. They'll probably be able to start charging more for ad space on top of the subscriber fees and the increase in relevance to NBCSN which is currently, well.... it's just there.

I'm much more worried about what happens if FOX gets the NBA in a couple years and the trickle down of commercials from that.

fox does BY FAR the best job its not really even close. We have the DW haters that seem to cloud that but the truth it is Fox and all its people are pros and do a way better job. I don't see what nascar was thinking by having TNT just take 5 races. Its a dinky schedule for TNT and IMO it confuses casual fans on where to watch the race. What if you forget to change your DVR over to TNT?? I think it would be better if the races were moved to a network that has a greater commitment. The only thing I did like about TNT was the camry test car. I would like to see DW and the guys at fox have a test car like that and take some laps with a car that has a setup somewhat close to the cars running in the race.

NBC's coverage will only be different by who's directing, who's announcing, and who the pit reporters are. It will still have the goofy gadgets/cut-away cars, loads of commercials, and lame pre-race shows.

Gotta love DVR's, skip through commercials, watch the first 20 laps and the last 20 laps. Watch Race Hub and get all the other stuff that happened.

As Far as DW goes, man I am glad he is gone, he is the mouth from the south. Have had no use for him since he through Mikey under the bus at Daytona the first year Mikey rolled his teams out, I am not a big Mikey fan, but, he is DW's brother, plus his whinning about not being in the first 2 rounds for the hall of fame, he is an, oh never mind.

I personally will never fathom the DW hate. Seriously the guy is paid to comment on the sport are you supposed to like or agree with everything he says?? that would be surprising if that was the case. He is simply doing what he is hired and paid to do. You can also tell the guy is nice off camera. I will take DW anyday over wally dallenbach or that other guy in the broadcast booth.

I like DW's down home touch most of the time, especially when he says "that will draw you up."

I like how there weren't as many Viagra or Cialis commercials. We don't want that crap on TV, and Fox didn't get that.

seemed like audio didn't match video many times .
that falls on tnt director and producer...etc .....not all is ...wally ...kyle ...adam.
hope we see all 3 in yrs ta come w/ fox or nbc.
nbc will put out better/ slicker last 1/2 season broadcast next yr. got too many nascar eggs in basket not to. as andy said.

don't like commercials ........find a ppv sport ! or mute button on remote.
