Ha! I hope you guys get all the snow and we get the good weather! Sposed to be 55 tomorrow with the snow up in the mountains. I moved south to get rid of the snow and the first winter I was here, we got 17 inches in one day! Holy cow, they blamed it on me.

Bucky, was that back in '93? and where'bouts from?

I moved to GA in '94 from New Endland, and all my co-workers still blame me for every flake :(

TWF and I went out to the new house to pick some mail that had gone there. It was eerie, the fog was on the ground, bright sunshine, no breeze. According to TWF this means snow soon and often throughout the winter. The mountains looked breath taking tonight, even though with all the rain most of the color is gone. Snow on the highest peaks already. We promise to have pictures ASAP. The 9.85 year old is doing her snow dancing tonight so she won't have school tomorrow. I don't care one way or the other, I just want snow for Christmas. Growing up in Ohio it isn't Christmas without snow.

Eat your hearts out guys.:) First day after three days of Santa Ana winds (called Chinooks in other parts of the country) and it was about as pleasant a day as you could ever have. About 80, slight breeze, clear and sunny.....and visibility unlimited!!:D

The cold weather doesn't bother me. I prefer it over the heat. Cold weather means more snugglin:booya:

Besides, you can have your CA weather AND your CA crime, earthquakes, and other hazards. I'll take my mountain life any day.:)

Nah, it was the winter of '95 here in Winston Salem. I had just moved down here from Davenport, Iowa in November of that year. It's funny because just before Christmas, we took a neighbor of ours, a newly wed girl from southern Florida, up into the mountains to show her some snow. She had never actually seen snow in person. We found some along the road, hard packed and only about an inch or so, but it was real. A week later, we couldn't get our cars out of the parking lot. Since that time, we've had snow now and then, but it hasn't been anything to talk about. Of course, here, when the weatherman even mentions the word snow, they close down the schools, whether it snows or not. But then of course, most people who live here haven't driven in the snow enough to be proficient.

I moved back to SC after living in Des Moines, Ia. back in 1987. In Ia it was one of their mildest winters ever. Approximately two weeks after arriving in SC we got one of the worst snow storms ever. We were out of school for a solid week. Guess who got the blame for that one??
