Today's Race Thread

Ya I feel bad for Junior, he's had a bad season so far and that wreck on the second lap won't help anything.

Heard Hammond say in the pre-race that he thinks Truex is going to the #2 next year.

problems surge for kyle busch, jimmy johnson, and now jeff gordon...damn

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lol Tony WON!!!!!!!

^ just about what i was gonna say

Tony got a well deserved win. And, more importantly I thought he was being sincere in the post race when he said he hated that Jeff had problems. You know that Tony was just itching to beat him mano a mano.
They mentioned that the road course ringers hadn't won in 30+ years. Is that correct? Makes me wonder why there are so many of them in the game.
At least Ricky had just enough gas to cross the finish line. Good for him.
I'll bet there's a lot of calls to transmission builders today. What an unmitigated fiasco. I wonder if NASCAR will call them to the trailer as they did Goodyear about the tires... :D

Great job Tony and team. It as only a matter of time till they won. Of course they had to win when i didn't get to watch it. Thank god for a good ol' fashion VCR. ;-)

I hope you don't have to be Canadian to be a fan of Ron, do you? :)

i think so too

Didn't Jeff have transmission problems at the Glen last year too?

no, he was spun out by greg biffle

EDIT: and kevin harvick

EDIT AGAIN: no that was in 2003, sorry

I'm not the biggest fan of Nascar road course racing or Stewart but I thought it was a pretty good race. One thing I thought was odd is that it seems to be a well known fact that these races are tough on transmissions so I wonder why they don't have a couple of 'em in the pits. Speaking of transmissions, it seems as though Earnhardt Jr is more and more unhappy after each race as the season goes on. Look out for Daytona.

And....NO MORE DW!!

^ Ya no more DW but now we have Wally Dalenbach, he annoys me way more than DW

Yes, the Hendricks cars had problems using the same transmissions they used Sunday. I think I'd be looking for another builder for the Glen this year.

On a side note, I watched VL and I thought JSpencer did a really good job. He knows the current business better than BP or even DW and he has an air of credibility about him. You just get the feeling that he's not going to be blowing smoke up our rears. I'd love to see him and Mike Wallace take WD and BP's places.

Yeah, spencer appears to tell it the way he thinks it is - not the way others want to hear it. I like that.
