this weeks Winston Cup Scene reports that Baldwin has left the team and is expected to sign a multi-year contract with Evernham Motorsports. Gene Nead, crew chief of Ted Musgrave's team with Ultra Motorsports will server as Spencer's crew chief for the final five races.[Doesn't say who will crew chief Musgrave's team, that is running for the Truck Series Championship]. WCS also reports the #7 Cup team may not run a full 2004 season if a sponsor is not found

.....if a sponsor is not found.....Jimmy The Thug may be a hero to some but in today's corporate world I doubt that those who allow their frustration to turn to violence have much of a chance of garnering the money needed to race Cup full time, let alone competitively.

Bummer for me is that I've always liked Jimmy's style but like Woody Hayes, he sealed his fate with one sucker punch.

Tommy Baldwin imo had little choice but to get out while the getting was good.
