It appears that CBS will re-air a show they did last year about a man who tried to invent a way to fight cancer only to find something else. John Kanzius fell ill to lukemia and did all the treatments science has for treating the disease. When he was finally "cured", he decided that he would try to find a better way of treating the disease since what he went through was terrible. John worked in radio for years and knew that radio waves would heat metal, so he though that if they could inject metal in the patient and then aim the radio waves at that target, it would result in the same as what he went through. But he also found something else with his experiment. He thought that he could desalinate salt water with this process, but what happened was that he generated hydrogen and it burned, thus making it appear that that the salt water was burning. So, fuel from salt water? Not quite so fast, though there are plenty of sites that promote this process, claiming that you can use salt water for fuel in your car. (I've researched this quite extensively and gave up on the idea) it takes more energy to create the radio waves than you get from the salt water. However, there are still many labs around the country that is working on just this process. John died earlier this year from pneumonia but said that his main goal was to find a cure for cancer, but that if someone wanted to purchase his finds for other purposes, he would sell. Don't know if anyone took him up, maybe we will find out tonight, but interest in this hydrogen generating machine is on the back burner for now since the price of gas has gone way down from what it was last year.
