Tony and Carl have finished right next to each other the last 2 races. What do you think they will do if it's late in the race at Homestead, and all it will take to win the championship is to bump the other guy out of the way?

It doesn't even have to be for the win. Tony could have most laps led wrapped up, and Carl hasn't led a lap yet. If he moves Carl out of the way and takes 20th place from him, would he? Damn right he would. I don't think he would hesitate bumping Carl off a win either. That point Burton airmailed to him at Phoenix could be huge. I don't think Carl would think twice about using his bumper on the last few laps to move Tony.

With just those two able to win the championship, the time for being nice is over. I really hope they are running bumper to bumper at the end of the race. I can see Tony moving Carl, and Carl flat out wrecking Tony, or the other way around. I hope it ends with banging and rubbing without wrecking, but I hope the finish is a classic.

Neither is afraid to be aggressive. Carl has more of a history based upon some dramatic incidents he has been a part of.

In the end, I could see Eddie Haskell being more of a dickhead than Smoke. Still too close to call... I am gonna have to weigh the options before I vote.

I don't think you'll see either one intentionally hit the other at any time. Both want to settle as to who has the best car.

Really? I guarantee that if Tony is faster and Carl is blocking him, Carl gets moved and then reacts. If the situation is reversed, Carl will find an excuse to run into Tony, and Tony will react.

NASCAR has a very long history of haveing "Talks" with drivers about what they would and would not like to see on the track, especially at season ending races where the Championship is on the line and alot of eye's are watching.
I very seriously doubt there'll be any intentional taking out by Stewart or Edwards by each other or other "Team members"............Butt I've been Wrong before ;)

these guys know how to move people out of the way without wrecking them. they will both do it if a position is on the line. not going to take the poll. the guy that's behind will do the moving. :)

Thanks for explaining the difference between moving and wrecking. I thought it was clear, but I guess not.

Don't forget door slamming by the guy in the lead. Break that momentum.

Once there is contact, if that's how it goes down, this could end with 2 cars limping across the line in 35th and 36th. Neither guy will let this slip away by 1 point in the name of respect. At least, I hope they don't.

I don't see either of these guys taking the other out. I'd like to see them run clean to the end. How cool could it be to see a 2003 Darlington type finish only it being Stewart/Edwards in a 'winner take all' dash to the line?

3 point difference, right? If Tony leads the most laps and Carl leads none, the point spread would be ONE. So, if Tony were to finish one position ahead of Carl, they would be tied - and Smoke would win the first tie-breaker (most victories). That would be way cool!!

But the likelyhood of Carl not leading a lap is low. Even if he has to stay out under yellow, you can bet they'll be hunting that one point. Ditto for Tony. Pus like Burton did, letting your teammate go as needed. Possible chance that the Toyotas and Dodges may be the only roadblocks for Carl & Tony.

Perfect scenario.

Yeah, I wonder where he got it. :D

Some of it came from here...

It doesn't even have to be for the win. Tony could have most laps led wrapped up, and Carl hasn't led a lap yet. If he moves Carl out of the way and takes 20th place from him, would he? Damn right he would. I don't think he would hesitate bumping Carl off a win either..

...and then I added a pinch of drah-ma for good measure! ;)

I worked so hard on that, and you didn't read the first paragraph? OH, what's a writer to do...;)

I voted for Tony. Every thing he does he turns into a competition and he hates to lose.

Me too, and he wouldn't be wrong to use the bump and run and call it what it was. I think Carl would play the "whoops" game if he gets aggressive.

Tony: I'll wreck my mother to win. This isn't about friendship.

Carl skirted the question.

Question answered, and I nailed it. :beerbang:

Poll is evenly split.

As for me, see my signature... :D

Carl looked uncomfortable with that, but it registered. Carl now has an open door to knocking Tony out of the way.

Tony seems to be trying WAY too hard to get in Carls head. Carl seems relaxed. I like how he made faces as Tony tried to convince himself that he has nothing to lose.
