Tony and Jeff at each others throats!

Well Tony did say that it was all about 'Give and Take' and that Jeff needed to learn to give. Wonder why Tony thinks its OK for him to always take. If Tony had given another lap or 2, as long as no one else passed them and it was lap 41 so there was plenty of race left, then this wouldn't have been an issue.
It seems that Tony is all take and no give...

dude you think tony is all that, you should marry the guy jezz, and i completely agreed with barelypure.

I must be doing something wrong to start getting people to agree with me... :D
shadow, axl, etc.
Now don't get me wrong. If this had been in the last 10-20 laps I'm going for the win. I'm not going to take time to be Mr. Nice and try and work my way around somebody. I'm not going to be coming in 2nd and get caught on TV kicking my car (Bobby) because I let some Yahoo pass me on the final lap. But, lap 41 of 400. Come on. Someone needs a reality check.

^ yeah exactly, i dont know what you doing trying to pass somebody so desperately so soon in the race?

Could be that he was trying to get to the front where his car would work better!! :) Jeff Gordon is quite good at that.....when he needs "clean air", he goes for the clean air. And he don't waste no laps in doing it either!! Tony has a valid point..........there are a few drivers out there who do think you should be more patient with them. Those few drivers are normally in fast cars but they aren't as fast as all the cars. And they think that because they are in fast cars everyone should be patient since in a pit stop or two they will be the fastest on the track.......and that may be true but why should a faster car at the moment have to wait for someone else to get faster?

Tony made sense to me. :)

jeff wasn't waiting for no cars to ge better..that doesn't fit..i mean think common sense....i think tony was just trying to look good, still its tony's fault and whoever think is not then they must be blind or something i dont know...

tony didn't make sense to me. :)

Whenever there's an accident or wreck someone is always at fault. But the one at fault does not necessarily bare all the fault.......and thats what I saw last Sunday. Tony ran into Jeff......no one has disputed that part. But to say Tony "ran over" Jeff or to say Tony deliberately "moved" Jeff out of the way is a stretch. Tony was obviously faster than Jeff at that point in the race. Jeff did not want Tony to pass him. Both driver are doing nothing wrong at that point. Tony wants to get by Jeff because he's losing time to the leader (and because of Tony's competitive nature, too :) ) but Jeff is now blocking Tony (and yeah, Jeff was blocking). It's time for Tony to either lay back and be patient (as Jeff thinks he should) or make a hard effort to pass Jeff......Tony chose to make the effort and drove deep into the corner to get as close to Jeff as possible (that's a race car driver's way of saying "Hey!! Move the heck over........I'm faster than you!!" and something Jeff Gordon has done and will continue to do). Problem was that Jeff couldn't (or didn't) drive as deep into the corner as Tony and Tony tapped him.........it's a wreck now. :D Tony's fault? For insurance purposes, yeah it was!! Was Jeff culpable? Yep!! :D Was it a "racin' deal"? Yeah.......it was. Someone sort of hit it on the head earlier on another thread: Racing in the big leagues is not an "excuse, please...........I want to pass you" sport. It's a rough and tumble sport. And few ever make it without being as tough as the next guy...........Jeff Gordon included. :D

Gordon knew who was behind him and that he was faster - he'd be a fool to think that Stewart was content to sat there and be blocked. He should've pulled over and saved his car. I can't wait 'till Gordon gets to tangle with Vickers :)

They are both adults and both are human.

You get mad, fuss and go on with it. They have choosen to do that .... it will just be 2 different drivers next time.

They both can say It's over, but as soon as one of them gets pissed off at the other, for whatever reason, the first thing that will come to their mind is what happened at Dover and It will be on again.
I honestly hope they can let it go but somehow don't think they will.
:bigfight: :boxing: :swords: :dual9mm:

Even if they do get it all behind them and something happens at the track (at any track at any time) between Tony and Jeff the media will get it going again between the two!! :) And the fans will have another field day with it!!! :D

That's the way fans are. They just can't waite to see Joe and Kevin bump each other on the track to see what happens.
:D

Tony wants to get by Jeff because he's losing time to the leader

This is an excuse we hear all the time, but does it really have merit. Consider lap 41, so is he really losing time to the leader. What are the odds that we will be caution free for the next 359 laps? Remember a caution brings them all back together again. There was no one behind them trying to get around so he's not in danger of losing a spot, or 2 if both are passed. For all of the talk about 'give and take' it is just that, talk. Tony wants it his way and everyone else can just be ######.
