Tony and Kurt

I actually like both drivers, but Tony prolly shouldn't tried to make it fit.Duane

Wrong Duane. Tony had a run and had no choice but to go there. Kurt's spotter was asleep, methinks, and Kurt didn't know not to block him.

I heard Tony punched Kurt in the face in the hauler. :XXROFL:

Yeah, they say that he did punch Kurt after Kurt was supposedly mouthing him in the hauler. :p

First Spencer, then a police man..... now Stewart...... he's hard headed if nothin else...lol

I don't know if you race or not, I do, the lead car has the right to go where he pleases. The car following him has the right to step on the brake if he so pleases, if he chooses not to, it is his fault, no different then on the street. If you rear end a car, its your fault, period. You were either following to close or inattentive, either way, your fault.

Mike Waltrip stated on his TV show last year, there is never a reason to hit a car in the rear,UNLESS, it was involved in an accident or you ment to do it, plain and simple.

Very good point, i totally agree.;)

There's a difference between Daytona and your local track.

When it comes to rearending your compeditor, no there isn't. You either mean to do it, your inattentive or the car crashed in front of you. I suppose misjudge could go in there too, but Tony has been around for a while, I think he thought he could nudge him a bit and get away with it, didn't work. FYI--- I am a tony and a Kurt fan. Tony had a run. He had a full head of steam and he had to go somewhere. If you're the leader, you're right, it's your choice. But, it was PRACTICE ... for a non-points race. KURT blocked Tony. Tony had nowhere to go (and standing on the brakes would've also caused a big huge wreck). THAT is not Tony's fault.

Kurt wasn't the leader either. Tony didn't try to hit him. Like I said, it's practice. Nobody tries to wreck people in practice. Tony had a lot of momentum and he had to go somewhere with it. Kurt chopped him off as they say in open wheel. Kurt's fault, not Tony's.

Kurt had NO RIGHT to retaliate with a $50k+ racecar. The dude's reckless, he does this all the time.

There's no point in chopping off guys who have a run on you in practice. If this was a race, it's one thing. Instead, we've got two wrecked up racecars in a meaningless practice session.

Skurt misjudged, not Tony.

It's not rear ending a guy when you have the front fender beside his quarter panel and he decides to turn right. Either the spotter screwed up or Kurt didn't care.

Besides, Schrader has a better saying when it comes to whose fault it is. He said "as soon as you get on the racetrack, it's your fault".

I agree. Where did this nonsense about "rear-ending" come from. There is a world of difference.

Look, this is simple stuff, if you got one, count them, one fender on the guy passing or trying to pass you, it is still your line. It is painfully obvious that you don't race and never have. Duane

Watch the damn Video, Kurt was already up near the wall as it was, Tony the Idiot Stewart tried to go even hire where there wasn't room. Tony might be good, but it was only practice and he could have gone to the bottom :crash:

Not being a racer myself, I'm not going to argue who caused the wreck. From the angle I've seen over and over again, it's really hard to tell just how much room there was up by the wall. Wrecks happen and I don't think Tony "wanted" to wreck his car or anyone elses. What I have a problem with was Kurt smacking into Tony on pit row as retaliation. He took it too far. This time, it was Kurt doing the stupid actions. Tony has done it in the past, but not this time.

I'm really surprised at the reactions at this board since there's a Gordon board I go to and they don't really care for Tony at all, but they're all supporting Tony on this one. They usually say all kinds of crap about Tony, too. Lots of articles I've read have also supported him.

On Nascar This Week, I think it was Kenny Schrader who was saying if Tony really did hit Kurt in the hauler, he was his hero. LOL They were talking about how they've all been called to the principal's office before and you don't want to be there. :D

I still maintain that Kurt bumping Tony came before the commitment line not on pit row. And, that Tony put his own guys in peril by intentionally blocking Kurt's exit making Kurt have to drive around the back of Tony. That Tony wanted to get out and confront Kurt at that point doesn't make him in the right.

You should get your facts straight before making accusations.

My facts are striaght my friend, 22yrs behind the wheel and 10 yrs crew chief, my facts are dead right. Tony was wrong, whether he mean to do it or not, he played hero and lost. It was a stupid move in practice and it would have been a stupid move in a race. By the way, I am a Tony fan, but wrong is wrong.Maybe Kurt shouldn't have hit him after the wreck but I can understand the frustration of Kurt, with all the work that goes into a car and Tony the King makes a stupid decission. I also like Kurt and Kyle and Greg Biffle. I like drivers on the edge, makes racing way more exciteing.

I don't expect you to agree with me, but I'm baseing my opinion on what I know, your baseing your opinion on what you think. Thats OK by me.

So chopping a guy off in the middle of a pass is acceptable to you? How would you feel if you were Tony and had cars behind you and you were chopped off the way Skurt did to him? He couldn't just back out of it because he still would've wrecked.

IN PRACTICE, for a non points race, why's Skurt feel the need to race like it's the last lap of the Daytona 500?

Tony could only do one thing with that run, pass Skurt. Kurt had total control over the situation. He put the block on when somebody was already passing him. His fault.

Then he rammed into Tony like Tony meant to do something. That's a no no.

I'm glad Tony knocked the carp out of him. A few more punches like that might remove 170 pounds of stupidity from the keebler elf.

There was no chopping, look again at the film, I doubt Kurt even knew he was up there. And for the big question, what was Kurt doing with a fish? Duane

I have to totally agree after being around racing most of my life and witnessing a lot of bone headed moves over the years, that was a bone headed move on Tonys' part . Should of never done that especially in practice!
