He definitely gives off the vibe of a guy that's clearly ready to retire. Much more so than Gordon did.

Driving on Sundays is sounding more and more like a chore or obligation when you hear him on the radio each week as the season goes. Totally understandable though.

I don't know.... seemed to me ol Jeff was done as done could be. I feel like that vibe wafted off him in quite large and frequent waves.

I feel the same way to an extent. The win at M'ville showed someone who a) was stoked on a potential last win in a crazy race and b) someone who was working hard for a w in a year that was very mediocre compared to the previous year.
 
No helmet, harness, or Hans device?
And I don't think that tiny little fire extinguisher is gonna do much for that forrest fire brewing in the background.

Yeah I think it was there to a degree. At least up until the Bristol night race. The run they had in that rainbow car seemed to catapult that team toward the chase. Their numbers going forward were super solid, and then his numbers in the final 10 races were just superb. Up until then though, he wasn't having much fun.
