Tony , charges dropped!

I am also very happy for him. now I hope he can put this behind him and move on(if he hasn't already done so).
:beerchug: :beerchug: :calpping: :calpping:

Cool, now Stewart is free of this distraction. Now he can go on and win a championship.

Good!!! I wish it would happen to more of the money grubbers.

Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty, he's free at last!!

And abooja...those were some kickin' pants, weren't they?
Hehehehe.....

This whole think should have been dropped when it happened, I'm glad Stewart was cleared of charges on this one. Now he's just got to keep his nose clear for a couple more months, and he's safe for another year!

:gavel: I am glad that the courts let him go. Maybe the golddiggers and money grubbers will let him alone, But he also needs to keep that temper in check form now on.

Yea Tony:beerchug:
I personally hope he has many pair of those pants. I'd like to see him wear them all the time;)

I'd kinda like to see him "not" wearing those pants...
(oooo I am so mean......LOL)

Speaking of pants, this is a shot that a friend and I used to refer to as "Tony Stewart's Package". She seemed to think it enhanced that region. I just don't see it. :p

I believed in Tony thruout this unfortunate situation ant thought that woman was only out for her 15 minutes of fame and a BIG check.

I just feel bad that Tony can't "play" in other cars for now and I wish him the best.

Sorry to break the news, but Stewart wasn't CLEARED of charges.....they were dropped for lack of evidence. However, she can now sue in a civil court for what she prolly wanted in the first place............money.

As I stated earlier, I happened to be at the Sullivan County Justice Center today. I asked several of the court officers and attorneys if they had heard anything. The answer I kept getting was, If YOU do, let US know. They had some pretty tight security in that courtroom. Kinda led me to worry that he might get indicted. Glad he wasn't. But the civil suit can still be filed as someone pointed out earlier. I somehow think she won't be getting as much as she thought, if anything. Good for TS.

OMG Abooja, if you're going to post pics like that, I must look at them long before this hour. Be still my heart!!
On to serious matters--I'm so glad TS is not facing charges. Go get 'em Tony.

 I have to see the picture of the pants you all are talking about.

Good for Tony. Hope this is the end of it. Shaffer's husband said it was never about the money. We'll see. Bet they go to civil court. Any work on the EMT deal??

I was jumping for joy when the charges were dismissed. But I bet a dollar to a doughnut the woman pursues it in civil court.

*gazing at pic* Be still my heart. *sigh*

While it's true she can sue in civil court, you're wrong. He was cleared of the charges. "Evidence" isn't brought into an equation until there is an actual court proceeding.

Which is precisely what a grand jury presentment is. The prosecution presents just enough of their case to get the indictment. By the GJ returning without an indictment, it means that sufficient evidence was not presented to convince the GJ to warrant just cause to prosecute BASED ON THE EVIDENCE PRESENTED TO THEM. Now, how stringently an indictment was sought in the first place is another matter entirely.

Either way, the criminal proceedings are closed. Civil is another barrel of monkeys.

Actually your wrong paul, grand juries are convened to weigh the evidence and determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial.

Check out the web site I've listed here, it explains grand juries quite well.

I stand corrected on the evidence, thank you.

However, he was cleared of any criminal charges.

yeah sort of.... they simply decide if there is enough evidence to proceed with charges. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the same case go back to a grand jury if more evidence comes available, whereas a person cannot be charged again if found not -quilty during a trial.

Not sure...I defer to the more lawful among us. :)

Anyway, I see you're from Nova Scotia. I just spent some time up there. What part are you from?

Paul.... I'm from Halifax, presently live out in the burbs, and work in a city about an hour from Halifax. Were you up here on vacation and where did you stay?

Yeah, we stayed in White Point. Had a great time driving around the Island.

It was raining one day but they were having some Wind Surfing race up in Halifax so we decided to go up and check it out. We couldn't find any shore at all in Halifax, spent about an hour driving around looking for the shore to no avail.

White point beach resort is supposed to be real nice, haven't been there but have heard alot about it. The windsurfing race was probably not right in halifax, more than likely it was up on the east coast at one of the best wind surfing beaches we have called Lawrencetown Beach, or south at another favorite called Queensland Beach. Quite a few events are advertised as Halifax, but are actually outside the city.

Halifax's water front is very nice though, nice long board walk along the water front and very popular with tourists, but doesn't have good access for windsurfing.

I wish we had looked around a little harder. That was exactly what we wanted to do that day, walk around in nice shops and get something to eat.

The day we arrived in Nova Scotia some building in the port town had collapsed into the street.
