Forgive if this was posted earlier, but what the heck was up with that? Did Nadeau make a mistake? Were they fighting with each other? Did Tony hit him on purpose? Talk about freak. Stuff like that shouldn't happen on during caution laps.

ft18, I think it depends on who you ask. I can't really comment because I wasn't watching at the time and haven't seen it on tv yet. I've seen on this board that some think Tony is to blame, but Mr. HappyHour (the Stewart fan) insists it was Nadeau's fault. Apparently on the radio, Stewie was a little unhappy w/ the 44.... In any event, the tap caused the oil line to break.....

Also, what the heck was an oil line doing that close to the body work? Especially at Bristol?

According to many stories around the web, Nadeau after moving by Tony had to get hard on the brakes and Tony got into him then. Replays were scarce on the broadcast so who knows.

The oil line routing is a question mark, I would guess it has always been run there by the team with no problem. Kinda like the deal with the rock into the pulley/belts on Marlin's car at Sears Point (Infineon). Some things are not a problem until jsut the right circumstance comes along and then....AwSchidt!!
:)

Like I said, freak stuff. Tony should be leading the points by 300+ points right now. I know, coulda, shoulda, woulda...

The #44 was trying to get in front of the #88. He was only 1 lap down and Jarrett was several laps down. Nadeau thought he should have been in front of him. He sped up to get in front of Jarrett, he blocked him, and the #44 had to stop from hitting him. But Stewart hit him instead. Stupidity by a bunch of lapped cars jockeying for position.

Bristol is the WORST place when it come to lap cars wanting their laps back. It always seems like there are some terrible situations that occur because of over aggressive drivers trying to get their laps back.

What's with everybody jocking for positions during the yellow? Johnson and Rubby Gordon mixed it up also....putting the #48 outta contention also. Last time I checked, NASCAR is suppose to tell the guys where to be. Saturday night was weird....with the full moon and all. LOL

well, if you look at the replay, it looks like Nadeau cut up into Stewart when trying to get past the lap cars. Stewart might have been alright, but hit Nadeau back and that's when it appeared he did the real damage.

Just a freak accident. I doubt the same problem will happen again. Anyone wanna bet if they moved the line????

Nope, No betting here. Im sure they must have moved it. Weird how something so little can make such a difference. Too bad...

Listening to the guys on IWC tonight they were pretty convinced that line problem was not directly related to the contact. Morre like a part failure just waiting for an excuse to happen.

Makes sense to me. If that little bump could pinch the line the car would have never lived at Bristol in any race.

I taped the race and I reviewed the Toni/Jerry mishap.....It looked to me that Jerry passed Toni to get in line, but slowed a bit at the same time Toni sped up....WAAAA LAAAA!
