Since Tony won his last cup title, there hasn't been a lot to celebrate over at SHR. Two wins last year?Until last weekend, when Danica Patrick was the fastest SHR car at M-ville.

Running worse than Danica on top of being horrible since Steve took the top of the box for the 14, has got to be a grind on the team and Tony. Tony will not accept this.

And the fact that it's eating him alive inside right now, I love it.

On top of it. The qualified 34th and ended up better than Tony could have ever dreamed of.

Getting rid of Grubb was a terrible mistake.

I said it when it was announced that Grubb would be out that taking Addington was a huge mistake. The guy was so hit and miss with his adjustments with the stints he had with 2 of the more talented drivers in the garage. I still think he'll be off Tony's box by the end of the year, but he may have trouble getting another established CC to take his place.

I do think Tony made a mistake letting Grubb go, but until the Chase started, who thought Tony Stewart had a shot at the title in 2011? The all around performance of SHR has been disappointing lately. I don't think Addington puts enough adjustability in the car to keep up with track conditions. Look at what Grubb was able to do with MM on Sunday at Martinsville. That car had a ton of adjustments throughout the day and finished 10th. I wouldn't count Stewart out as he gets going around Summer time, but SHR appears to be struggling.

I thought SHR had four wins last year? (3 by Tony and 1 by Newman).

Another wild card is Tony. He is an elite driver and will be in the HoF on the first year of eligibility. But he is a hot and cold type, when cold it is a big miss, when he is hot he is almost unbeatable and seemingly able to impose his will on the competition. I guess that could be said of a few, but withTony it is more pronounced than any other driver

Some speculation: I know nothing of the day to day at SHR, but the logistics of an additional team plus Harvick next year could be overwhelming. I am still not sold on Cup driver/owners. He won 2012 fair and square and I respect the way he performed. But it wasnt by being best for the 36, they just turned it up and kicked butts at the most critical time.

Doing it for s full season still seems overwhelming imo, even for Stewart.

Strange thing about Tony, he's won only six of his forty-seven career victories during the first twelve races of the season. He's a slow starter for whatever reason.

YEP....Tonys shoot from the hip... b-4 you think got the best of him. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall when that whole deal went down...

If Tony thought it was Addington's fault, he would/will fire him. Besides Tony being a slow starter, it could be something back at the shop that is the problem. Sitting 22, 23, and 26 in the points, I think something is wrong with the car. The Hendrick cars are all in the top 12, even the Childress chevys are beating his team.

Tony'll be fine. Their cars may suck, but it's still better than what Kevin's getting at RCR.

You forgot Penske :)

I will be the first to admit Danica ran good at the paper clip and I dont like her and I dont think she belongs in cup racing period. Smoke employs her for sponsorship money. Smoke will be just fine. He has always been a slow starter for what ever reason but the man has talent running out of his ears. When its all done and said he is a contender every single year and you can never count him out.

Getting rid of grub a mistake? I don't think so. Adding Addington? Probably. Tony won't fine Addington though. Why? Because he is a yes man. That is what Tony wants in a Crew Chief, and that is what he gets.
