NASCAR points leader Stewart to race USAC Midget at LVMS: NASCAR Winston Cup
points leader Tony Stewart will return to his open-wheel roots to compete in
the USAC Worldcom Midget Car Series at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor
Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 30. Stewart will make his first start ever at the
Bullring. "Anytime I can find the time to run a USAC Midget, I’m going to do
it," Stewart said. "My roots are in USAC and racing Midgets is my way of
having fun. So, I’ll be there." Friday, Nov. 29 USAC will have an open
practice session. Spectators can watch practice from 4 to 7 free of charge.
Saturday, November 30, spectator gates open at 3 p.m. Qualifying begins at 4
p.m. with racing at 6:30. General admission is $20 for adults, $15 for
senior citizens/ military personnel and $6 for children ages 6-12. Children
five and under are free. Admission to the Stockyard is $50 per vehicle (up
to four people). A Family Four Pack can be purchased for $40. Admission to
the pit area is $25 for USAC members and $30 for non-members.

The first thing I think about when I see Tony's name is Midget's. Eventually I'll get use to him in Winston Cup but damn, Midget's are fun to watch.

The first thing I think about when I hear "Midgets" is Bobby Hamilton Jr. The first thing I think about when I hear "Bullring" is Tony Stewart!

:) It's all in fun folks :)

Sure hope the race is televised. I love watching Tony in those little cars. :)

Just wish Kenny Irwin was there, too. :(
He and Tony would wage war on the track in those little cars.

What happened with the agreement with Gibbs about not running anything but Cup for the rest of the year?

Maybe he told Gibbs to shove it?

Just me but I think that Tony's time in NASCAR is coming to an end.

I hope you're wrong, but I've thought this for some time now.

What changed your mind?

Come on folks,

At least according to the schedule I have the Winston Cup season will be over by November 30. I believe the last race is about two weeks before then.

Maybe Tony will win the Chili Bowl race this year.

His win last year in the Chili Bowl was awesome. Some of the best driving I have ever seen !!

I sometimes question how long Tony will stay in Winston Cup too. I could see maybe two or three years and then he'd take his ball to the house so he could count his money.

During the 2001 season Tony said himself that he was in it for the Championship and once he had that he was "outta here"...his own words. So if things go his way I would guess we are witnessing his last Nascar races.

Unless he is not a man of his word....who knows.

I personally think he should stick around, I would like to see him bring up a young driver much in the same manner that Mark and Jeff have, hand picked and tutored. I think his no-nonsense approach would be well suited towards ownership and then he could see both sides of the coin as well and learn a lot more about what it takes to really succeed.

Maybe that is what he is doing with Danny "The Dude" Lasosky. I hear that Tony has given him a great contract that will take care of him and his family for life! Tony didn't want Danny to have to worry about taking care of the family while racing! Tony made sure they were all taken care of !

I saw Tony race modifeds at Cedar Lake last year. He brought Danny with. 10,000 people showed up in Orange and White, it was awesome :)
