10. So that the overused term "Ya'll" can be replaced with the local phrase "Youse Guys".

9. City driving is perfect practice for short track races.

8. Mike Helton's new apartment on the upper West side needs a view of a racetrack.

7. They figure it will make it easier for Kevin Harvick, Jimmy Spencer, Kurt Busch, and Tony Stewart to all be on the Howard Stern Show.

6. So that the United Nations could sponsor Hideo Fukuyama, an almost unknown Japanese Road Racer.

5. Apparently Donald Trump's offer was one they couldn't resist

4. Jimmy Spencer, Robby Gordon, Kurt Busch and others won't seem as 'aggressive' compared to NYC cabbies

3. New Jersey already has the needed elements: lots of paved roads, organized crime, gambling....

2. Mike Helton has a list of every All-U-Can-Eat pizza buffet in the 5 boroughs

And the number one reason NASCAR wants to build a track near New York City….

One word - Sponsors.

Absolutely, TRL. There are a few dozen within blocks of me here on Madison Avenue. And NASCAR itself has some sort of office on Park Avenue. I've never tried to visit it. Hmmm....

Just found the address:

Nascar
375 Park Ave # 1202, New York, NY 10152
Phone: (212) 754-3000

Pretty cool! But it sounds like it's just an office. I wonder if there's anything there worth trying to check out?...And I wonder how many fans like me try to weasel their way into this office?...

Might be worth a shot. :)

Sounds to me like it's trying, TRL. Boo, sounds like they are spending alot of money for an office if it's on Park Ave. See what else the "weasel" can find out! ;)

Funny you should mention that, TRL!

When I stood outside the Waldorf last fall (for the first time ever), I met a guy in a tuxedo who claimed he sneaks in every year. In fact, he had just left for a few minutes to get some fresh air, and was the one who told all the fans still waiting outside that most of the drivers weren't going to be leaving the hotel again all night, so we shouldn't bother waiting. That was a real disappointment.

I got some great pictures of the Winston Cup flag, though.

Go knock on their door then take a few pictures. Tell them it's for their fans across the country.:)

a Boo Boo,
I just wanted to say,
You_Rock_Emoticon.gif
if that's OK? Weasel on abooboo!!!!!

You are too sweet, Walrus.

Alaska: Sounds like a plan! I'd better make sure to do it before awards night, when all the other weasels are likely to surface. This will definitely place me more in the Kramer category. :D

Lappy: Here you go, wiseguy. ;)

An NYC area track would be a good investment. If they are going to build one i hope it isn't a 1.5 mile tri-oval.

OK, Kramer, barge right in, take the shots, mumble something about Dr. VanNordstrom, give 'em a yadda yadda and shashay right on outta there.

We can't wait for the pics.

I agree with you on the new track. It would be great to have a track that is an hour away from where I live. I travel 3 plus hours to Pocono or Dover to see a race. I wouldn't even mind if it is a 1.5 mile tri-oval cookie-cutter because we don't even have a track like that in the Northeast.

I just don't see how a major NY/NJ track could work without being the worst traffic nightmare in all of NASCAR. Don't get me wrong -- I love the idea (particularly if it's a short, highly banked concrete track) -- but it doesn't seem feasible at all. Not unless we deport a few hundred thousand folks. Too many people here as it is. The only saving grace is that it would only be once a year.

Alaska: Or I could wear a mohair sweater and sunglasses, barge into Mike Helton's private quarters, and take a photo of him in the john. :p

Better yet you could get there before Mike and hold all the tp hostage. "Can't spare a square, not a square to spare".

Good trading material for all the pics you want to take.

And once I make it into his private bathroom, I can board myself in, take it over for myself, force them to pay me a salary, then drop a large ball of oil on Mike's head when he refuses to answer my "Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllooooo". :p
