Top ten's chances?

I am new to the board. I am also a big Harvick fan. Don't hold that against me.

I wanted to know what everyone thinks the top ten's chances are of holding on to a spot for the Chase for the Championship? Specifically, the chances of Harvick, Newman, Busch, LaBonte, and Sadler.

First of all, WELCOME Aboard!! Pretty nice friendly board here most of the time. :lilangel:

I think we will see some changes in some of the positions you're asking about. My guess is about 3 will drop out of the top 10. No facts to really base that on, just a gut feeling.

Thanks.

Do you see Harvick as one of the ones to drop out. I don't think he will just by the fact that he hasn't not finished a race in like 50+ races. Hopefully he won't get in anymore trouble with other racers to screw up his chances.

Come to think about it, I haven't heard his name mentioned in a long time on the race track. I wonder whats going on there? Well for your sake I hope he stays there, but there are a few hungry racers waiting to pounce.

Harvick doesn't get a whole helluva lot of air time, (unless it controversial) but I've said it before and I'll say it agian; this guy has the gear and the talent to win a the cup.

BTW, I'm in no way a Harvick fan.

Hello fellow Harvick fan. Yes I belive he will stay in the top 10. And after the 26th race he has some tracks comming up that he runs pretty good at. :bounce:

I don't think anyone is safe. I think Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick are both safer than others but other than that.... the two guys I've locked onto as possible contenders to drop out of the top ten are Newman and Saddler. With Martin and well I thought it would be Jarret but now it's looking more like McMurray getting in.

Personally, looking at the tracks left until the last ten races, I gotta say that Bobby Labonte and Harvick are in the most trouble right now. Getting rid of Fatback may come back to bite the 18 team.

Martin may move up, depending on who Jack gives the A1 stuff to. Mayfield also has a decent shot.

Harvick hasn't been in contention for anything all year. Without other drivers bad luck, he'd be about 17th right now. He'll fall out. Newman will probably fall out , too. Martin and either Mayfield or Jarrett will make it.

Nobody has mentioned the rookie! I think both Everham cars have a shot at the top ten.

8-13 are going to be fun to watch...less than 200 pts separates these guys...

Ryan Newman
Bobby Labonte,
Kevin Harvick,
--------------------------------- Out
Jeremy Mayfield,
Kasey Kahne,
Mark Martin,

I'm betting, Ryan stays in the top 10 but either Jeremy or Kasey slide in and steal a spot... Sorry Bobby &/or Kevin! (probably Bobby tho....for the same reasons as EMP stated)

Big Harvick fan here! I think Kevin will make it... just watch.

I don't think Harvick will make it. He hasn't been a contender all year. He hasn't won for about one year now and he's only won about 4 races all together. I don't consider him a top 10 contender at all. JMO

Harvick's woes makes me wonder why Childress essentially switched drivers, Kevin for Robbie (was that last year?). Harvick was doing well and Robbie was in the back until then. And, why do they even have the 30 car? No one can do anything with it.

I've read everyone's thoughts and here's my thoughts after Pocono.
I think Harvick will slide into the Chase at #10. He hasn't been able to get out of that slot. After that he's got just as big a chance to win as everyone else in the top ten. Last year he averaged a 12th place finish for those races. Maybe this year he overcomes all of the pitting screw ups and bad equipment to come from last to first... A guy can dream can't he. The only reason I say he'll be in the Chse is because he is consistent. He hasn't won a race this year but he is still up there in the running with the likes of Newman, Labonte, Kenseth, Busch and Sadler.
I also think if any of the other drivers are going to unseat any of the current top ten it will be Mayfield and Kahne. It's gonna get real good wathing twelve to fifteen guys fighting for ten spots.

Indy is coming up and I think that will light a fire under Kevin's rear. I say he'll make the chase in 7th spot.

I to am a Harvick fan and I think he will make it. These last 6 races historically have been good for him.

I am new to this forum and learning my way around this place. I'm trying to find a 29 pic to put in but they are too big.

Welcome Tex. You'll find several other Harvick fans around.

I think it will be REAL close for Kevin. He has just seemed 'off' for quite sometime now. Nothing I can really put my finger on, but he just seems to be there, if you know what I mean...
