Kinda interesting..... Dale Jr doesn't even use twitter but he has the 10th most followers.

Top 20 Twitter.jpg

from here

I don't know how that works DP, can his PR person or Kelly be the one sending the tweets?

#13 -> What a Daytona 500 win does for your career.

I'm surprised to see JPM have so many.

No, I guess what I should have said is that his account goes unused. He doesn't send anything out. Some people that work for him send out general stuff.

I am also surprised Kyle Busch has that many fans, he's supposed to be so hated. He's got quite a few followers.

JPM=International racing star
Danica=International racing star, celebrity, sex symbol and spokesperson

Stepping outside of the NASCAR bubble is good for one's perspective.

i'm not a tweeter, so help me out....

who's doing jimmie's tweets? cause if he isn't anymore entertaining than when on camera why follow? a sleep aid?:D

Jimmie's tweets are actually funny as hell. He even started a hashtag, #vanillamyass.

These drivers, all of them, are trained by the time they enter Late Model racing. They've got PR guys programming them ... teaching them not to get mad, to thank their sponsors, to memorize their sponsors and so on. It's almost artwork to watch a 15 year-old driver win his first race and get out of his car and just spout off the standard "Well, first I'd like to thank my sponsors" and so on. Twitter's great because, for the most part, it's raw.

Most of these drivers can be laughing and having a good time and the second there's a microphone, TV camera or a tape recorder in their face, it's like artwork watching them lose all emotion and give a cookie cutter interview.

He frequently gets in "arguments" with his detractors, does weekly giveaways, posts interesting pictures/videos from various racetracks, etc. etc. He's definitely one of the more active users of social media; it's not just some PR guy sitting there typing race-related updates, it's Jimmie's personal account.

at least somebody stopped tha "i can't thank my xyz enuff" routine.

His account is like Dale Jr's twitter account, set up and ready to go but only one message from March 2010, probably set up by a publicist somewhere.
I think it's like buying the domain names. They just grab the Twitter handle before someone else does in the event that they start using it or at the very least preventing someone else from using it.

Why does Montoya's Twitter bio say he's the only Hispanic in Sprint Cup? Isn't Almirola Cuban?

It's not like it's follow, they probably want to see what the hell he's gonna do next.
