So what frightens you more a bog wedge tprmadp coming you way, an Earth Quake or an in coming hurricane? Or how about a flood off the mighty Mississippi River flooding? I've witnessed all of those natural disaters and I must say that the tornado is what I fear the most. You never know exactly what you are in for and how much lead time you will get. Hurricanes normally have plenty of lead time to get out but if the storm isn't strong, you can board up your home and hope that will to get all the storm preperations done before the big storm hits. Flash flood are hard to try and get all that you have out of the way but again, you will most likely have plenty of time to move your stuff. But a tornado is so very violentdddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

What happened, buck? You fall asleep on the keyboard?

For me, an earthquake tops the list. The thought of the earth just suddenly shaking sends tremors through me.

My wife grew up in So Cal and she's been through earthquakes, I haven't.
I was there at Fobes when the tornado hit Topeka in 1966, she's never seen a "twister".

Hurricanes we've both seen and survived. Lost a few trees, PITA pulling the boat but a hurricane is a piece of cake all things considered.:beerbang:

been through an earthquake while in fullerton, ca. been through a hurricane in asbury park, nj. been through high winds (still don't believe it was an actual tornado that hit us, damn close though <g>) in catlin, il. we have flooding here but we're on high ground so no problem. the earthquake and flooding were nothing compared to the hurricane and tornado.

I haven't been through any yet but I think an Earthquake would be the worst. With a tornado or a hurricane you could have some warning but an earthquake can happen right out of the blue on a bright and sunny day with zero warning.

Hmmmm, were you at Sasnak's? Good place to be.

Reminds me of the time I was at Ie Shima, Okinawa. Big typhoon was on the way and the commander called for volunteers to make sand bags. At the time, most of us were in the "club" drinking. Everyone else grabbed their beers and headed for the door. Not me! I stayed behind until the Captain came in and yelled at me. I turned to him and said, let me finish my beer first. I was painting the curbs for the rest of the week. :D

Why yes, yes I was. More than once in fact. :beerbang::beerbang::beerbang:What was the name of the place about a block away that sold pitchers and you got free peanuts? Threw the shells on the floor?

Don't miss 3.2 beer in the slightest.

Never liked the thought of tornados. Growing up in N.C. we had the occasional twister. Been through Hugo and Ivan, but you can prepare for Hurricanes. Tornados are somewhat unpredictable, and they happen quite freaquently here in Bama. What happened last week was just downright freaky. At one time last Wednesday, 39 counties were under Torn warnings. We had our Tornado at 5:30am on Wed. We lost power and had to listen to all the Tormado reports on the Radio. We escaped the afternoon storms, with the monster that destroyed parts of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham passing 10 minutes north of here.

Good gawd, do you think that I can remember that far back? I only remember Sasnak's because of Violet. But seriously, that was over 40 years ago and I only spent six months there. If I wasn't at the Airman's Club, I was at Sasnak's. Everything else is just a blur, with one exception. Spending one week on training at a state park in a tent, during Thanksgiving, freezing my tookas off. At least I got to ride in a helecopter.
