I just caught a week time out on my woodworking forum. 
Why? Because a mod wants to trade in his '08 Silverado. His reasons, C & P'd:

I don't have my list in front of me of my dislikes over my 2000, but....
1) truck is to far off the ground. The door sill is ~2-3 inches higher. Enough to make me go out and buy running boards. Plus, because it sits taller, I can't put the raised camper shell on it that I wanted as it would hit the garage door.
2) Radio is to far away from the driver, it's a good stretch to reach the far buttons
3) The secondary gauges on the new dash are difficult to see.
4) The hood is so blocky, after 2 months, it's still hard to tell where the front end stops.
5) The power sliding rear window isn't available, even though it's supposed to be, and there aren't any aftermarket's available.
6) The gas mileage sucks. It would have been much better it they had improved mileage instead of HP when they redesigned it.
7) They got rid of the cubbyhole over the windshield so there is now nowhere to put your sunglasses except in the center console.
8) The new knobs on the radio, AC and headlights. You have to look for the little LED to see where it's set at. The old knob in the shape of an arrow could be adjusted blindfolded.
9) Some idiot decided to make the headlight switch not stay in the OFF position. It springs back to the Auto position.
I don't remember the rest right now, but IIRC, I've got 13 total.

I'm very happy with my '05 and there doesn't appear too be many major styling differences between the 05 and 08 or even the 00 you traded in.
But my question is, I assume you test drove it and with the exception of the gas mileage everything else is obvious so why did you buy it?
That caught me the week off for being such a smart azz.
