The word on the street in the NASCAR garage over the weekend was that Toyota is now expected to debut its Cup cars at the 2006 Daytona 500 and that NASCAR will let Ford, Dodge and GM have new Cup engine designs for that season. That, however, could give Toyota a significant head start, since Toyota this year is running its Cup engine on the Truck tour.

I wonder what Body Style they would use? I say this rumor is probably gonna come true come 2006. I know Dodge is going to a new body style next year. Just can't remember which Body Style, Charger maybe?

IS NOTHING SACRED!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will probably base it off of the Solara model.

Why the "boos"? Were you guys booing when Dodge came into the series?

I say "the more the merrier", let them in, i think it will be great for the sport! I thought they were basing the NASCAR Cup car on the Camry?

Pretty soon we are going to have a common car in NASCAR so all it will matter is what sticker you stick on the front grill.

True... none of those cars looks like its street version. so who cares. heck, you could run a volkswagon beetle, it would still look like a monte carlo.

Yep all i care about is the racing ...if it is good racing i really don't care what brand of car is out there.

Most of us weren't born when Dodge entered the series. If you mean re-entered, no. The sport was founded upon American manufacturers. I know all about Toyoyas being built here, and GMs/Fords/Dodges having foreign elements too, so save your breath. The majority ownership of Toyota is not American. Thus my own personal displeasure with it. But to each their own.

MAny, many, many year ago when Baseball was new. There were no non-American players. Same with Football and Basket ball. But that changed. Nascar will change to and it will be good.

As a well-known world celebrity I must say that I helped advertise for Toyota when I was in Japan during a movie shoot. This ought to be a good experience.
