TRAC announcement

Dangit I was looking forward to this action.....anyway here's the latest:

"It came as no surprise this week when it was learned that the Team Racing Auto Circuit has filed documents with the Securities Exchange Commission saying that it will not take to the race track until April 2004. Terry Hanson, the president and chief operating officer of TRAC, said the delay is primarily a way to allow more time for the new stock-car circuit to secure a television deal.
"In conjunction with our yet to be announced TV partner, we felt that delaying our inaugural season to 2004 would be the prudent thing to do," Hanson said. "That will allow us to do a more comprehensive job in the sales and competitive aspects of such a large undertaking."

well it sounds like they have a TV partner but who is it? There has been no rumors about who it is? SPEED is the obvious guess, but I would not be surprised if ESPN takes a stab at it. And run most of the races with the IRL to help get the seris started.

I dont think they have come up with a TV partner yet...."the delay is primarily a way to allow more time for the new stock-car circuit to secure a television deal."
And Hansen says..."our yet to be announced TV partner"

Our yet... seemed that they just have not annouced it, they said a long time ago that they where close to a TV deal, but i guess if that did fall apart then delaying the start to find a TV deal is the smart thing.

I aplied to the TRAC news letter a long long time ago and have never even got an e-mail about anything, and now the site is down.

Man I know I'm dissappointed. That idea behind it is a good one in my opinion. Hopefully things come together soon.

I do to 66, i liked the idea of trans-am on ovals, which is kinda what it was like. Plus 3 races at Bristol.

It all sounds interesting they should also mix it up with a little dirt action.

Without someone to broadcast the races, there is not any real point for them to do it. Waiting to work out the TV deal probably isn't a bad idea.
