NASCAR.COM's TrackPass free for 'Dega weekend

type size: + -NASCAR fans, Start ... your ... computers!

NASCAR.COM is offering "43 for Free" during Talladega weekend by giving race fans access to all TrackPass subscription products at no charge so they can log-on and follow their favorite driver -- or all 43 drivers -- throughout the weekend.

The products include:

• TrackPass RaceView, a live rendering of all Nextel Cup Series races;

• TrackPass Pit Command, a 2-D rendering of each race;

• TrackPass Scanner, exclusive in-car audio from the field of 43 drivers.

I prefer the Live leaderboard. That way I can concentrate on the tube and not have to worry about reading the stupid crawl.

I usually take advantage of the free weekends when they come 'round.

But I've noticed everything is 15-30 behind live action...

Doesn't matter usually but it's wierd when you watch your driver pull out of the pits THEN get news they're doing a 4 tire change...

Is this the case with the audio and the live-track-dots on non-free weekends????

Pause your video to sync it up with the TrackPass.
I do this to sync up with Sirius so I can listen to the radio broadcast and watch the tube. Their talking heads are so much more informed and give you more of the action.

Great idea!

I guess this means you'll buy me Tivo?

Glad to hear it's not just my connection or something like that.

You mean you don't have a DVR, yet? Horrors...what must the neighbors think...
Actually depending on your computer you can add a TV tuner to it and get the same thing. Then with a DVD burner you can save the races for posterity.
