Is it just me or is noboby covering CART anymore? I hardly heard anything leading up to the race this weekend and I saw very little in the way of highlights. I'll be curious to see the tv ratings.
 
Well if you don't get SPEED you won't see much of anything with CART this year!! Or should I say Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powed by Ford(BPCCWSPB) :D WHAT A NAME!!!

I saw some previews for it during soem of the NASCAR shows friday and saturday on SPEED. I watched some of the CART Quals and some of the race during commeraicals from the Cup race.

I would bet that the IRL IndyCar Series will have better ratings than the Champ cars had. Plus you might see more headlines. The IRL now has good sponsors, teams and drivers. Compared to CART who has half the feild as rookies and hardly any sponsors left but Bridgeston, Ford and Players.
CART will survive but it will only be because the F3000 is dying in Eroupe and F1 is taking CART under its wings for the 2006 season as the feader system to F1.
 
I looked around and couldn't find any ratings either.

You're right PB4510, that is a goofy name. Bridgestone Champ Cars or Ford Champ Cars I coulda lived with. Maybe even Bridgestone Champ Cars by Ford. Oh well.

It will be interesting to see if the IRL picks up in ratings and attendance this year.

it will be allright, everyone was pumped up for the rock, I usally will flip back and forth, but I pretty much watched all the nascar race as crazy as that sounds. That and combined with the hella hit they took, with now most race fans can't name more than 2 drivers( Vasser, Tracy ), meaning no personalities attracting veiwers. It will take time but they will recover with no problem. This will just be a blurp in time.

Well i am happy for tracy, starting off the year the best you could. It was sad for some of the other teams though. Many veterans found themselves out early, and wierdly enough the rookies kind of prevailed even with the lack of experience. Cart is looking good for this year and rookies like Sebastine will shake things up. Look foward to the next race.
