I'm about to buy a Trans Am or Camaro SS

I figured I could find out the diff between the two...

I know SS are harder to find

But ..Whats faster? Any diffrence?

Plz if anyone can tell me the goods of a trans am and SS id appreciate it =)

thx

i drive an '01 ta. it is equal to a z28. the ws6 ta and the ss are close to each other performance wise due to ram air. don't know about the aerodynamics between the two.

Well, why not just go to your local dealship and test drive both of them. That way you dont need to decide by specs, but by what you like best!

Ive always been a fan of both but i did end up Owning 2 Camaros and i had driven a trans Am i Personally Like the Camaros better (Just my opinion)

The Camaro should be the better car.The Pontiacs are generally heavier and all else being mechanically equal the heavy car loses. Both these f-bodied GM's are overweight as it is.For real red light to redlight speed bite the bullet for a late 80's Mustang LX 5.0 trunk-model and eat both of those for lunch.
IF you have to stay with the GM models I would recommend the SS---unless a Buick GN is available in the same price range.

If power is what you're looking for I think the TA has more.I own a 01 grand am gt and beat a mustang of the same year we both have a v-6 engine.I had a faster take off.Ram air does make a difference.May want to look into both cars.Good luck w/your decision.

Just remember that the Grand Am GT is the performance level Grand Am....the V6 Mustang is the secretaries/sunday school teacher model....

My 2000 Camaro SS is for sale, 40K and chrome wheels with new tires all around and 315 tires in the rear, charcoal leather, dyno certified at 537 flywheel horse. runs low 11's in stock weight, gas milage is 14/27 $18,000 takes it. I have my eye on a 2002 Z06 ;) .
