Morning Forum Gang. What's so good about Tuesday? Well it's not Monday of course. Schools closed again due to icey roads. My daughter is loving the mini vacation. News reports are saying its even too cold for ODOT (Ohio Dept of Transportation) to put salt down. This is where you see who the true idiot drivers are.
Catch ya'll soon.

edit* I should learn not to post until my second cup of coffee, my typos are just so bad until I am fully awake! :p

Dee, I was supposed to leave today to take a Harvick car up to Hershey, Pa for a show on Wednesday. I live just outside Charlotte and I tried leaving home this morning at 6:30 and couldn't even get out of the neighborhood.

The streets are solid ice about 1 to 2 inches thick. Even if I made it to the interstate which is about 1 mile from the house, it would have been tough. I stayed home and have been listening to the radio. The interstate near LMS is jammed up because of a series of wrecks.

So even if I was able to get onto the interstate, I wasn't going to be going anywhere due to the smash 'em up derby.

I hate this weather. And I hate having to miss doing a show. This is the first time that has happened to me in 5 years.

Everything here is pretty much under a sheet of ice. But they are calling for freezing rain off and on all day so it should get better

Guido, you just stay home until the ice melts. I've been watching the news and things are just terrible up there.

If y'all live up there in the frozen north, please take care and stay safe.

Hey gang,

A few simple things like studded tires and tire chains, salt and sand mix spread on the ice covered highways and before you know it the trees start to bud, the robins start to sing and springtime has arrived.
Next thing you know it's time for Bike Week at the Weirs, the Fourth of July, the races have been run at NHIS, and before you have time to let the grille cool off completely it's time to decorate the tree and wrap the presents.

Gang, come on up!! There's a bunch of fools here in New Hampshire that don't let something like cold weather or ice and snow slow them down. We race cars on the ice, snowmobiles, ATV's where ever, and even have a World Championship sled dog race that starts and finishes on the main street of our fine city during the middle of February.

Who needs to wait for Daytona when there's all that racing going on in our own back yard?

Winter is only as bad as you let it be! Get out in the snow and cold and have some fun to warm yourselves!
Quit complaining about it and enjoy the season!! :bounce:

Gotta run now or I'll be late for my appointment with my shrink. Although I feel as if I'm completely normal, he has some different opinions about that! :bounce: :cuckoo:

boB, now you be sure and listen carefully to that shrink! He/she is the professional! As far as getting out and playing in the snow, if I had some, I'd probably do so. As it stands right now, no snow and none in the future. We don't really get much of the white stuff here in the Lone Star State, except for those out in the West Texas Panhandle. And, I don't mind playin' in the stuff, but driving on roadways with other folks is a completely different thang all together! Ain't happenin' on my end! I'll stay home and have a snowball fight with the son, but ain't playin' no bumper cars on the roadways! Have a great day, boB!!!

Hey I gotta work out in this mess, it's real fun driving a box truck and making deliveries in this winter wonderland

It was 70 yesterday and today the wind chill was 19. The sun is bright but it is cool. The high today should be in the low 40's.
