Big news out of Comic-Con '09.

Disney is working on a sequel to their 1982 cult movie classic Tron. The sequel, titled "Tron: Legacy" has Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn. The premise has Sam Flynn, the now adult son of Kevin Flynn looking into his father's disappearence, and eventually pulled into the computer generated world that his father has been living in for the last 25 years.

Here's the trailer showing off the re-designed light-cycles.

Tron was never given the accolades it should have gotten for blending real with CGI. It's hardly recognized as the one of if not the first to do that.

Not only that, but Tron came out just a mere 5 years after Star Wars. Which by comparison, had almost no CGI effects other than the primitive vector line graphics used on some of the computer screens. Other than that, Star Wars used models and green-screens for most of it's special effects.

It's because of Tron that Disney was able to use CGI in nearly all their animated films since. The Disney/Pixar films pretty much owe their existance to Tron.
