DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 30, 2009) – Wesley Lane, a crew member for the No. 90 team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, has been suspended from the next six NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events and all NASCAR activity until July 1 for rule violations at Kansas Speedway.

Lane was found to be in violation of Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 3-5 (permitting someone else to use your NASCAR License). Lane has also been placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.

So what did he do? Let someone use his credentials to get in?

That's how it appears.

Someone tried to get in to the dragstrip a couple weeks ago. Said they worked under me for a local news site (yep, I have my own staff...). Did they really think the track wouldn't ask for photo ID?

People do that all the time at local tracks. One track I used to work at someone claimed to be me and tried to get their way in. I guess they never thought about the pit gate people do know what I look like.

Another track has had several incidents where people have said their PR man forgot to put them on the credentials list. When the PR man was called, he said he's never heard of these people. They just knew his name and thought they'd slip one by the people at the pit gate.

Andy, you need a better proof-reader. ;) I should add, A LOT of these racing sites need better proof readers or a proof reader, period. I'm amazed at what gets posted on front pages with misspelled words, the wrong form of a word, improper punctuation, etc. Sorry, but that just bugs me! If I'm going to get published, I'd sure not want to have a typo or anything else in my publication. I bug myself when I come back and find I've made a typo and didn't catch it. Yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine. LOL

I'm sort of worried about my daughter not getting off on the Friday of race weekend since I bought us pit passes. My husband could go with me, but then when my daughter comes for the rest of the weekend, we wouldn't be able to use them. So, she better get off of work! LOL :D

:XXROFL: That's what I don't get.

Everyone at the track knows what I look like, what I wear (wear the same Jacksonville Jaguars ball cap every week) and what I drive. It's kind of hard to be 190 pounds, pull up in a Furd F-150 and try to pull off being me by saying you work for the local paper. :XXROFL:

Editor's been out, and I've been overwhelmed

with three tracks, ARCA, and helping organize a big race down here.

then you're spending way to much time here. :D

I don't have to make phone calls, write up articles, work on press releases or anything else when I'm on here. I just pull out my keyboard and post my drivel. :D
