Trucks and Canada

I was just looking at the truck series website. Both Canadian races have been cancelled, one in the past, one in the future (tomorrow at Sauble). I'm going to guess this is due to passport/enhanced drivers license issues. I myself have an EDL, which is pretty quick and easy to get, but I was surprised to hear recently that they are available in only 4 States: Vermont, New York, Michigan and Washington. And like almost no one is from Vermont. :D

Just speculation. I see ISMA had one race in Canada, and it happened.

I was told the 1st race was cancelled due to the promoter not paying the deposit on the race, so the series decided to cancel instead of risk not being paid.

I've not heard what happened with Sauble (yet)....

600,000 people

Which represents exactly 2/10th's of 1 percent of the population. And I think only 3 of them are race fans. Just kidding, but my point is I had thought EDL's were much more widely available, and people could get them in places like Ohio, Pa., New Jersey, etc...

But it appears I'm wrong about the whole thing anyways. Let us know if you hear anything about Sauble, ARCA Trucker.

Just curious................what is the cost of a EDL?

I had never heard of it before but I got a passport over 10 years ago and just go with that if I have to drive to Canada for events or shows.

Back when they ran some races in Mexico, I told them there is no way I would be taking a rig there. Fortunately, they never asked. :D
