So what is with the Truck Schedule? I mean why aren't they running as many races as the N'wide or Sprint Cup series?

Well, their next race is in Martinsville, if my bonus comes in by then, I'll drive up there and watch it in person. :D
The only thing that I can think of that's better than going there to watch them race @ Martinsville in the spring is going back there and watching them race again in the fall. ;)

Best part about any truck race? The ticket price, $35 at the gate on the day of the race, and there's not the Sprint Cup crowd, so you can treat it like going to a local short track. Drive up, pay the $35 at the ticket stand, pick your favorite spot with a few snacks and drink and watch the trucks! :D

Since trucks are a better show than Cup.Brian is probably afraid if they run more races more people will get behind the truck series and that will further hurt his Cup baby.

Mesa Marin, I-70, Walt Disneyworld, South Boston, Louisville, Hickory, Memphis, Portland, Evergreen, Heartland Topeka Park, Nashville Fairgrounds, Milwaukee, Flemington, Nazareth, Pikes Peak, Indy Raceway Park. All these tracks were in NASCAR's top 3 schedule in 1998. This is why popularity is down across the board. Now it's rare to see Trucks and N-wide go somewhere other than the cup tracks (boring). I think at least a third of these tracks no longer host races.

Oh really? I always thought the reason why they ran such a limited schedule plus the huge gap in between races was because this series is geared more towards the folks that like to race but doesn't want to keep with the hectic part of the business.

Its where old veterans go to "retire" their careers. Or so I tell myself.

Lack of fan interest. If fans showed up to the track and watched on TV, Nascar would run more Trucks races.
Just a few years ago there were 25 Truck races. Now only 22. Nationwide has also cut back several races in recent years.

Problem isn't costs. Problem is revenue.
Not enough people buy tickets. Not enough people watch on TV.

If the revenue was there, Nascar and the tracks would happily incur the costs.

if a track comes up with the sanctioning fee they normally could host a race. This is the guaranteed purse and NASCAR fee. I think it takes at least 250 grand in sanctioning fee to host a truck race. A race track looks at that and says we can't pay nascar and make money on the race. I am not sure what the fee is exactly to do a truck race I am just throwing numbers out guessing. but I do know a K&N race is 65k in sanctioning fee. I am sure there is probably some negotiating with this. but the bottom line is can the track pay nascar and make money holding the race. With the truck series in alot of cases the answer is no, heck even in NW they cut back a couple races. this why I think nascar should pick up the costs on this and rotate a couple races a year at select short tracks.

Fans demanding things like better seating , jumbotrons, track drying equipment , better access in and out of the track ,safer barriers ,better protection from flying debris in the stands , etc., etc., (while keeping ticket prices low ,)also contributes to the difficulty of hosting a race.

I like the truck series a lot more than nationwide, and they tend to have the best racing out of all 3 series. And they dont have the god awful chase format

I like the Trucks series, too. But you and me are in the minority.
Average Truck race last year only got about 700k viewers.
Which is why there aren't more races.

Well, I kinda blame NASCAR, I mean how much media and social networking exposure does Camping World Trucks get compared to N'wide or Cup?

The series is full of snot noses now or close anyway, some of em are still on the nipple

Keep about 10 cup drivers in every race or the series just might be in trouble. Folks will tune in and show up to see the big dogs race

Whats wrong with Mikey ?? I know he is a bit of a goofball but why do so many people dislike him ?? Seems like a real nice person to me and miles ahead of that idiot Kyle Petty

Listen to him carefully sometimes, It's self explanatory. He don't have a clue about racing and does more harm than good, In My Opinion.

He sat in the winners circle at a truck race so he must know a bit. Of course the Daytona 500 wins dont mean a thing unless its Junior

You know I'm not going to get into all of that It's been covered ad nauseum on here but he won a 500 when Dale Sr. blocked for him and Jr. and you know the result of that and the second one was a rainout a couple of laps after halfway. I can't stand him and wont change my mind, so how's the weather?
