Ok, where's he going to go? I don't see him staying with DEI. Will Stewart-Hass add a third team?

Gibbs needs a fourth, but he don't fit in.

Chidress needs to can Mears and take Truex.

Kasey will likely end up at Stewart-Haas racing. OK, I admit I was having a senior moment. :D

Strong rumors have him possibly going to Michael Waltrip racing, and possibly into the 55 car. Mikey said earlier in the year that he might hang up his helmet after this year if he didn't run well. so far that has been the case.
And now all the mikey bashing can begin. I figure Andy will be the first.

I like Mikey.

I think it would be a smart business decision to retire and hire Truex for the 55 ride.

Bingo. I also agree.

Truex would have done better today if he weren't one of the guys who got caught pitting when the first yellow came out. Dover is one tracks I really pull for Truex.

Mikey will retire IMO , at least he has hinted at it , he knows it is time to concentrate on the business side. He can't do both, IMO that is what ruined his marriage, but then again that is just speculation on my part. As for Truex in the 55, I would like to see Kasey Kahne in that car, but Tony will probably snag him for his team, keep all the open wheel guys together....lol. Kasey has a lot of talent, with the right crew chief combo he can be a title contender.

NAH! I'll take first stab at it. Mikey is one of the most unsuccessful success stories there is in NASCAR. Doubtful he ever would have made it from the minor leagues of Owensboro, KY to the major leagues of NASCAR if it had not been for his brother. There have been occasional flashes of driving but that is all they were, flashes. I don't want to take anything away from him for winning the Daytona 500 twice but what the hey, Derrick Cope won it once and that should put things in some perspective for Mikey.
In the head to head comparison at www.racing-reference.info/ , Jeremy Mayfield came out ahead of Michael Waltrip. Going one step further, Scott Riggs came out ahead of Michael Waltrip. While his flamboyance may endear Mickey to some, his ability on the track is what counts. Showing people you can get the job done counts for more than telling people you can get the job done.

NAH! Michael should a gone a long time ago but like his brother, didn't know when to quit.

Funny you mention about his marriage. Remember after the Prelude when Tony won and donated the check to Kyle Petty's VJG camp? Kyle kissed Tony on the cheek. Tony responded by saying....... "Funny, I thought Michael Waltrip would be the one to do that." :eek2:

Maybe that's the reason for his ruined mariage. LMAO

He shoulda quit before he started. :beerbang:

Ha...almost fell off my chair:D

Heard Dr. Jerry Punch mention on a local radio show yesterday that Truex to MWR is very likely.

I must be out of the loop, Mikey and Buffy have split up? Dayum.

Truex, IMHO of course, seems to have paid his dues. I can't see him leaving a sub-par team for another sub-par team and I'm not taking anything away from Rutti-Tutti's accomplishments.

I'm still thinking Stewart-Hass, Gibbs, or a future team to be named at a later date.:D

MWR, with a better driver, could be a step up. I'm not sold on Reutiman's driving prowess, just yet. Sure he's head and shoulders above Mikey but who isn't? Toyota is giving MWR the support they just need the drivers for the results.

guess i'm out of the loop too. i remember when he proposed to her on tv after winning a busch race. kinda stuck out because he hadn't won all that much. talk about being put on the spot. <g> couldn't have been planned because who would have thought he would win?

I think kesolowski will stay with Jr. Another year in NNW then move into Cup with a JR/hendrick deal, same as Johnson has a Gordon/Hendrick.

I've searched high and low for any info on Mikey and Buffy but nothing is written in stone. Rumors of their split began over a year ago, but evidently there hasn't been any papers filed in NC, the state where they live. Keep in mind that in NC, to get a divorce, a couple has to be physically separated (not living together) for a year before a divorce can be granted.

I was talking to my friend today. His son works for MWR handling the tires. He said she sold her 25% of MWR to Robert Kaufmann giving him 75% share to Mikey's 25%. The house in Sherril's Ford also went to her and is for sale. That Mikey was trying to get a cousin with an engineering degree a job and it was denied showing he doesn't even have the stroke to control the hiring.
Rumors on the net are he's been seen with a very attractive blonde at several races.
Also he said they expect Truex to be on the team next year with Michael retiring.
Is it true? My friend helped out at CLT as his son who handles the tires broke his hand a few weeks ago when a tire that came off exploded and he stands by the stories.
And there is too much on the Net for something not to be happening.

I still think if Stewart Haas adds a third team it will be Keselowski.

I agree on that. With Martin staying in the 5 Keselowski will have to be somewhere. Either that or JR Motorsports will go cup.

Report: JR Motorsports preparing move to Cup with Keselowski
The buzz around the garage last weekend was JR Motorsports is setting the stage to move from the Nationwide to Sprint Cup series to field a team for Brad Keselowski. Keselowski said he is negotiating exclusively with Hendrick Motorsports for a fulltime Cup ride in 2010. HMS does not have an opening, but Rick Hendrick does have ownership in JR Motorsports with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Although Hendrick would have to sell his interest in the company to make this happen, that would be a formality.

Just what Jr needs another distraction.

whoa, whoa what was that someone wrote about Mikey & Buffy splitting up? i don't remember hearing about that but if it's true thats too bad for Mike, Buffy is a hot chick I wonder what went wrong...

They split a long time ago almost a year or more now.

I dare say that you can't show any proof of that...can you? I mean that I've searched high and low and can't find anything definitive about it.
I daresay, didn't you read BP's previous couple posts. Waht do you want, a certificate from the judge. ;)

Well, if I could see Andy's point of view on this, then I might give BP a little more creedence. But til then, I'm sticking with it's a rumor.

Mikey has alluded to no longer being together with Buffy for some time now on TWIN. He has not been wearing his wedding ring for more than a year. Remember when he flipped the truck, Buffy was no where in sight. Tall Glass of Milk posted over a year ago they they have seperate homes. The biggest reason I believe it is true, she has not been seen at the track for at least 2 years, Macy's there and she is not. They are done. :(

Buck don't have the link , but I remember reading it some where last year during the season. I know they have been on the outs for almost 2 years, and I believe they were divorced during the 08 season.

Waltrip closer to hiring Truex? Michael Waltrip hinted Friday that he's closer to a decision on his future - and that future may involve Martin Truex Jr. Waltrip reiterated his stance that he needed to run better in order to remain the driver of the NAPA-sponsored #55 car at Michael Waltrip Racing, the race team he owns. Truex, whose contract at Earnhardt Ganassi Racing expires after this season, has been frequently tied to the possible opening in the #55. "You just have to figure that he's one of the ones that no one knows where he's going," Waltrip said. "He's been a Chase guy. He stumbled in and has run up front from the beginning, so I don't know what the future holds. But he might be one of those on that list that would be better than me." Asked if he was any closer to a decision on his future on Friday, Truex smiled. "I'd love to share it with you, but I can't," he said.(Scene Daily)(6-13-2009)

I was watching a Camping World East race yesterday at The Glen and Ryan Truex won in a #00(i think) NAPA Toyota car for MWR.
