Turner Motorsports has announced the signing of Halifax, Virginia native Jeb Burton. Burton has signed a two-year contract with Turner Motorsports to run a full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule and a limited NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) schedule in 2013 and 2014.

Burton, who made his first Truck Series start at Martinsville Speedway this past March, has a total of five starts in the NCWTS. In those five starts, Burton has recorded one top-10 finish.
"I'm really proud that I can race for Turner Motorsports over the next two years," said the 20-year-old Burton. "This team has had so much success, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to work with such a quality team."
Steve Turner, who has been known to give opportunities to up-and-coming stars, said "I'm really excited that we will have Jeb under the Turner Motorsports umbrella. Everyone at Turner Motorsports feels he has the skills to be successful in NASCAR and we are eager to welcome him to our team." Turner, also noted, that he is proud to have Jeb's father, Ward Burton onboard to assist with driver development at Turner Motorsports.
More information for Burton will be released in the near future.

Nurse: What would you like to name him?

Ward: I wan ah name em affa my brudder Jeb... :D

Actually, his real name is John Edward Burton.

Really happy for Jeb to get this opportunity . Hope to see him do really well. Both Jeff and Ward are great guys.

Jeff once said that Ward's accent is thicker because young Ward's bedroom was on the southern end of the house.

So is Turner going to drop Piquet or Paludo, or add a fourth team? Or is Buescher movin' on up?

Probably means Buescher is moving up, but wasn't one of their trucks part time?

Ward was one of my two favorite drivers (Earnhardts Seniors the other ) during his cup career . I started rooting for Ward when he won a BGN race at Rockingham in the Gwaltney car.
Ward was a better driver than his equipment, nobody did anything in the 22 car before or after him.
He was also good in the Dillard owned 31 car too.
I would have loved to seen Ward in a super teams car.
Ward was just Ward, he never learned to kiss butt, and that denied him a shot with a premier team. That's all it could have been, because his driving ability was among the best.

I don't know if Jeb has the same natural talent, but as silly as it may be I like his accent, and his old man. I will be rooting for him.

I sat at the Rock one February Sunday watching Ward realign the right side body work on the #22. There was a run of about five or six laps when he would slap the wall coming off 2, then smack it again coming off 4. Each time the impacts got a little harder, and the body more distorted. To the disappointment of my father and me, he eventually had enough of that fun and entered the pits.

I'm not knocking Ward's talent at all, but that day the hardware didn't match up with it. It wasn't good for Ward, but it resulted in one of our favorite race memories.
