Kyle Busch gets a ticket: CBS 6 [Richmond VA] has learned NASCAR driver Kyle Busch was pulled over Wednesday night in Henrico County [Richmond VA] for reckless driving. The incident happened around 10 o'clock at Laburnum and Route 60 in the East End. Ironically, Busch just talked to the media Tuesday at RIR about NASCAR's new "Focus on Driving Campaign," which is aimed at limiting distractions for teens behind the wheel. Busch was in Richmond taking part in a nextel cup testing session this week. Busch is just 20 years old himself [turns 21 on May 2nd] and the defending Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year. Police won't go into specifics about the incident bu say that alcohol was not involved and there was no property damage. Busch is scheduled to appear in court on May 23rd.(wtvr.com), been told he was doing donuts in a parking lot.(4-13-2006)

UPDATE: The misdemeanor charge carries up to a year in jail, a $2,500 fine and a driver's license suspension, said Sgt. Don Lambert, with Henrico County police. The charge also calls for a mandatory court appearance; Busch will appear in Henrico County General District Court on May 23. Lambert said the incident happened at 10 p.m. near Richmond International Airport, a few minutes outside the city. Neither speed nor alcohol was a factor, though Lambert would not provide further details. Henrico County authorities said Busch, who lives in Mooresville, N.C., was cooperative.(ESPN.com/AP)(4-14-2006)

Guess he and his brother do not talk much, eh???

So he was doing donuts in a parking lot. Big whoop. How many of us didn't do similar when we were that age. No drugs, no alcohol, just showing off. Sounds normal to me.

I have to agree BP.

If he was doing donuts...then I actually think its kind of funny. There's a big difference between that (which, sure, is wreckless) and giving lip to a cop over charging through stop signs because you don't like traffic.

All i can say is big deal, just being a kid and having fun, we all did it.

i would have to say most of us on this board has done this at one point.....this is no big deal.

I know I have. I got caught and paid the penalty. Of course I wasn't a spoiled, bratty, rich kid. Just bratty.

Hell I wish I had a car that could do donuts. I'm 31 years old with a family and would have a blast doing some donuts.

I drag raced an unknown person when I was less than Kyle's age, (Mom's car) crossing the Fore River Bridge in MA, and he won. I, however, was stopped by the police and was lucky enough to only get a warning. I tried to hide it from my parents, but an official warning was sent to the house. Never did that again!

yep, it is normal for a young kid. and it is also normal for the police to enforce the laws the way they did.

The Busch brother's are not my favorites by any stretch of the imagination but I think this witch hunt against them needs to stop. Why does everyone hate them so much? Because they are that good? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Kasey Kahne mentioned on one of the pre-race shows that he got a ticket (maybe more) last year. I don't remember that showing up here or anywhere else. Apparently nobody even knew.

Let it go. Please.

With the way Bush drove a Nashville, an emply parking lot is the only place he will be doing victory donuts.
