Richard Childress Racing has partnered with D.G Yuengling & Son to be a primary sponsor on the No. 3 Yuengling Light Lager Chevrolet with driver Ty Dillon during the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.

As part of their 185th anniversary of brewing great lager, America’s oldest operating brewery will be the primary sponsor on the RCR Chevrolet Camaro for eight races of the 2014 schedule. Yuengling Light Lager will be a key partner as Dillon moves full time to the Nationwide Series next season.

Good for Ty.

larson in #1 cup car--2014 ......jamie in #42.....next dominoe ta fall ?

larson...kez....austin------1,2,3 next yr ?

I musta missed the announcement that Austin is vacating the #3 to move up to cup. When did that happen?

who else is he going to put in the car? They need to put someone young and new in the car, the retreads aren't getting it done.

Well this confirms that Austin will likely been in cup. Which is good -- he deserves it over Newman. Either that or Brian Scott is gone, which would be equally pleasing...

coy-----scott has been surprisingly pretty good durin last few races.......an pop-pop likes tha shore lodge $$.
he'll be back in 2014.......w/ ty as teammate. #2---#3.

in cup......rookie rivalry----#3 austin --vs----#1 larson . tv will push that...if it happens. ?

Where is the news that Mcmurray is taking the 42 ride? Or is that speculation that bass pro is leaving-officially, target is staying, and McDonald's wants Larson?

  • McMurray says he will be back in the #1 car in 2014: #1-Jamie McMurray will return to Earnhardt Ganassi Racing next season. While its company policy not to discuss contracts, McMurray told FOXSports.com at Michigan Speedway that "youre not going to see any changes between sponsors or drivers on the 1 team. McMurray, 37, is 16th in the Sprint Cup point standings. He has six-career Cup wins, including three in his past four years of his second stint with Chip Ganassi.(FoxSports)(8-20-2013)

how many times have numbers changed prior ta daytona 500.....new season ? teams still intact.

just wishful speculation dun 24.

I can see Bass Pro Shops being a key player either on Austin's car or the rumored 4th Stewart Hass entry.

Brian Scott is a bit like Paul menard...not good enou to compete for wins, but somewhat constistant. I dont like drivers who race like that, but he also has daddy bucks...

But that would be about 90% of the racers out there . Racers who are consistant but who don't compete for wins . I don't have a problem with them , they are a big part of racing and without them ,there wouldn't be any racing . I really wouldn't care to see a race that only has the ten or so top cars that have a realistic chance of winning in the race . People would still say that the guy who came last shouldn't have been there . Joey would be gone , Junior , likely Jeff Gordon , nope wouldn't do it for me.

I dont mean people who have made the chase before, and constiantly get top 10s (i.e. Edwards, Dale Jr, etc) but I do mind the people who ride in 15-20th every damn race. If they are new they get an excuse but if they have been racing for a while especially bevause of daddy's money then I get annoyed by it.

How about Montoya , McMurray , Almirola , Ambrose , Newman and Gordon.

Montoya and McMurray are inconstiant, they have the same spot in the standings as people who run in the middle though. Almirola is new, Amborse is super nice, we shouldnt count Gordon out (even though I dont like him) and I forgot Newman.

We got people who can't stand the start and parks, Bobby Labonte, we need to ban his happy azz, and now we need to get rid of the wheel holders running 15th and 20th. ..Ok, that will give them 15 drivers on a two mile track. Wonder how long it will be until somebody says..Can't believe they are only racin 15 cars, they need more than that. o_O:confused::)

I never said ban them, I just said Idont root for them.

In Montoya and Mcmurry's case, They should do better given the hendrick engines but Ganessi has never been the class of the field. I have high hopes for Larson but I don't expect him to win a bunch of races in the 42. If a driver in Hendrick or Gibbs equipment isn't in the chase, I blame the driver.. and/or Crew chief.

Fish..there it is bro, you get annoyed, you mind it..now on the other hand ya got guys that get pissed if they only show the leaders racing and not the mid packers back there mixing it up. they say that is where the passing is. And then, Heaven forbid they show a start and parker making their exit early, scooting off to the garage with a paycheck in their hand. The "ban the start n parks group" goes nutz over that action. don't forget the "there can never be enough cameras, and I never met an announcer I liked group". . We are all here, and we are called race fans, unique, passionate, and mostly full of you know what. boogidy boogidy lets go racing boys.

You're losin me there mate . Twelve spots in the chase and at least twenty-five deserving drivers . Doesn't work . Everybody can't make it in . Great , great drivers like Gordon , Edwards ,Kyle and Kurt Busch , have missed the chase . It's not just about great equipment .It's a lot about teamwork and racin luck.

One thing you don't see in cup very much is what a difference a really good driver can make. you see it a bit in N'wide, Kyle was dominating for a while. Next week they would put a different driver in the same car and finish mid pack, but all ya heard was it's the car that makes Kyle so fast. The reason that Gibbs nationwide car isn't leading the man. points is because Kyle isn't driving it every week. Kurt Busch..nobody is saying his car is junk like Montoya or McMurray. Same freakin engine in all three until recently. Now with the Hendrick in there they are supposed to be faster..they aren't though. Kurt's pit crew is worse than both of theirs. The equipment is fine..it is mostly the driver.

When we talk about this driver being better , or a pit crew being faster , or engine being stronger , it all sounds over simplified to me . When you look at the qualifying times , a tenth of a second over 1 1/2 miles can mean ten spots . Teams are caught cheating over 1/16 in . of ride height or 3 oz in the weight of a spacer . Pit crews can gain or lose five spots in half a second . A flat tire can take you out of a race and out of the chase . Folks the difference between second and twenty second is nothin . On any given day , any one of those drivers can hit on a shock , spring ,and air pressure combination and dominate a race .

Thats not true...you obviously didnt read my post carefully...

I wonder if this means AdvoCare is at least partially moving up with Austin.
Or not:

AdvoCare, a premier health and wellness company, has announced it will team with Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne to serve as the full-time partner on the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) in 2014. The No. 6 team, led by award-winning crew chief Mike Kelley, is currently competing for its third consecutive NNS...AdvoCare served as the sponsor on the No. 3 car of Austin Dillon the past two seasons. With Dillon making the move to full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing in 2014, the organization began the process of diligently seeking out its best option moving forward.

Yay that's so wonderful! Nice to see Rousch land some sponsership. Bayne isnt exactly living up to the hype of winning the 2011 500 but he's a damn nice guy and I like him a lot.
agree .......maybe that settles him down....w/ certain future.
seems like type guy that needs that ?

Forget the Dillon boys - Chase Elliott is the real deal. AND he's only 17! Give him a few years to work his way up the ladder and he'll be Cup championship material by his early/mid 20s. Look for him to be getting Jeff Gordon's ride once he retires.

You may be right about Chase getting a big time ride, but there are quite a few young guns coming along that might have something to say about that. Chase lost the race from the pole last night, and blaney came from the back and led the race and finished higher than Chase, along with Ty finishing right behind Chase. Than you have Alex Bowman, 16 yr old Mason Mitchell, Kevin Swindell, and more, so the future looks good in the lower ranks. they sure have changed the face of truck racing this year.
