This one for all you Dillion haters out there.....

Ty Dillon announced Tuesday morning that he'll make his Daytona 500 debut in 2015, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet for Circle Sport Racing.

Dillon, who competes full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series for Richard Childress Racing, will carry sponsorship from Cheerios and Kroger. General Mills, which continued a six-year partnership with RCR, also backs brother Austin Dillon's Sprint Cup entries through its cereal brands.

I think what they are really saying is he will get a chance to qualify and that is really all he can ask for.
Some peeps think because a kid doesn't match Larsen or Chase they aren't much good. Some call them spoiled little rich kids
but just because grandpa has the money doesn't mean they will get great rides. Harvick had a good run and Dale E. did great but that doesn't mean squat for any other driver and we have seen many fail.

I like the Dillon boy's so far and wish them well.

Me too . All this Daddy's money or Grampies money or Aunt Bertha's money is just a crock . It takes a ton of money to get by at the local short track , and tons more to get up to a Nascar feeder series . Nobody can get in on driving talent alone , you can't even get noticed . Money and your ability to attract money is the most important thing in driving a racecar.

I don't think i have ever read a more valid post.

But it certainly helps having RC in your corner. When he gets to the Sprint series then it will show whether it was decent talent but also the top tier equipment compared to those hr raced against. I'm not for or against him but money and name does get you further up the line.

Absolutely!

I only asked Chex because we have a 2015 predictions thread. :)
Yep. One of the bad things about the off season is missing our regular Fantasy games.

It's the big money race, so you want to get as many cars entered as possible, more chances of winning the lottery so to speak after a long winter of paying salaries with not much coming in.

I don't think Ty is going to be a huge success as a driver. I actually think Austin is the better of the 2 but the problem is austin is too worried about taking risks with the car. This is pretty much a no brainer especially if you have sponsorship or even some of it in place. RCR can put together an extra plate car and Ty can go racing. The minimum for just making the race is like 250k in purse money. So why wouldn't they do it.

I don't see either one of them being a huge success, but hey I was wrong once before

I do think Austin will become a top 15 driver, at the worse a top 20.

They will each do decently, probably similar levels of success as a Jamie McMurray type. Possibly more with the eminent talent drop in the next 6-8 years.
