They'll use this as motivation and will be pissed off this weekend cause they got picked on...even though they cheated. The weirdest thing to me.
Childers is done for the season. Mother of god..
This is yuuuuge.
Damn. But what exactly did they do to the spoiler???
Who would think that this was a good idea this close to the end of the season?
This was a colossally stupid action by somebody.
If I was Tony, there would be heads rolling.
That's what I'd like to know, too.
Statement from Zippy:
The notes reference that the spoiler must match the CAD drawings: "Vehicle spoiler must conform to CAD file and drawings."
This suggests that they discovered some variance that could have only come from human manipulation to cause it to deviate from the drawings. I guess that complete consistency with the design/CAD spec is beyond the OSS's ability at the track.
Spoiler passing pre and post race tech, then tearing the car down in R&D and finding a nonapproved spoiler.
Just wow, how do you do something so stupid with the season championship sitting right in front of you. Obviously this was a blatant rules infraction and they got busted and wont appeal. Just stupid.
Surprise surprise surprise !!!!
Eddie Gossage is asking for his six shooters and cowboy hat back.
A non-appeal speaks volumes IMO.
Blaney also got kicked in the teeth and
People around here gonna rage when they realize Logano had the only legal car in the top 3.
Reddit never disappoints
They dont have time to tech everything on the car at the track, thats why you have post tech at the RD center.
I’m curious what the violations were for the 12 and 20 team.
It’s obvious to me that Penske and Gibbs used those two non playoff cars as guinea pigs to see what they could get away with.
The 4 team...that’s just dumb.
That's funny all three cars they sent back were illegal. I wonder how many of the others were.
My question is, how long have they been doing it and getting away with it ? The obvious speed advantage of the 4 car is no accident.
I knew they'd (NASCAR) do something to make sure Golden Boy Chase has a shot at the title!
I don't know whether to bash the 4 team for being so colossally stupid or praise them on the giant onions it took to try something like that.
All season. Also noticed the 4 team paint schemes suddenly changed to feature more black in rear of the car
Oh that Burton gerbil is going to be a jumping this weekend. This is baaad,
Very true. Makes you wonder if both the Kansas and Dover cars had something going on but we didn't get to find out.
yeah very dumb but this brings up the question what happens if whoever wins the title at homestead if this happens then. Would they take the championship away from him ?
Exactly. Dumb dumb dumb. But, It may be why they've been fast all year.
LOL. Eddie would have to give 'em to Logano... whose car did not go to the R & D Center. All three cars torn down failed... 4, 12, and 20.
I would hope so. I believe the cars get torn down at the track after the race for that one.
I'm sure they caught the only three.
Tin foil hats are going to explode over this one, tin foil every where.
Undoubtedly. Either way, inconceivably stupid to possibly give up a championship just to cheat and win Texas. Hope it was worth it.
Probably the whole top 10 lol
Just in the little bit of practice I got to watch it sounded like all of the teams were really thrown for a loop last weekend between the track and new tire. They had to all be searching for something.
Sounds about right
Part I don't like and the "part" I don't like is that Nascar won't show anybody the offending pieces on any of their cars. Fans need to see what they are talking about.
They didn't get caught for all their other little secrets
Oh you mean those paint schemes that NASCAR vowed to crackdown on but never did and instead approved every one of them that came thru? Lol
I doubt it. I think that’s why the Championship 4 are always so much faster than the rest of the field at Homestead, because they know they can do pretty much whatever they want as long as it’s not glaringly obvious. It’d be a huge black eye on the sport if NASCAR were ever to rescind a championship based on a penalty after all of the hullabaloo that goes on with the winner immediately after that race.
It's the cheater's ball at Homestead.
