From Jayski:

Steven Wallace to make Cup debut: During SPEED's SPEED Report show, Bob Dillner reported that Rusty Wallace's son, Steven, a regular in the Nationwide Series, will attempt to make his Sprint Cup debut at Richmond International Raceway on May 1st. Steven will run a car from Rusty's team, Rusty Wallace Inc. and plans to attempt four other Sprint Cup races in 2010, no word on those venues.(SPEED)(2-28-2010)

This will be very interesting. I think he'll wreck more cars then JJ Yeley.

Wow....this is unreal. He is actually dumber than his dad (which is hard to pass). I know he has Tourette's (which he can not help), but this guy will be a train wreck worse than Kerry Earnhardt racing career. However, it will go better than Danica's. :D

Who are they going to get the car/engine from? MWR? Triad? JGR(doubtful)? Or will they produce their own? They get their Nationwide engines direct from Triad IIRC.

I predict in 2011 Matt Dibenedetto will attempt roughly 4 races in the #02, probably with Joe Gibbs Driven on the car. Phoenix 1, Chicagoland, Pocono 2, and Charlotte(Chase).

Again, From Jayski:

UPDATE - Denied: per Greg Wallace of Rusty Wallace Inc/ Rusty Wallace Racing: "At Rusty Wallace Racing, we continually evaluate opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, including a future involvement in the Sprint Cup Series at some point. However, there are currently no plans for RWR to field a Sprint Cup entry in 2010. As for Steve Wallace, our focus remains on making Steve and the #66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry consistent contenders for the 2010 Nationwide Series championship."

Everyone can now rest a little easier. That would have been the bubble, Chase racers worst nightmare to have had him in that 26th race of the season.

I have to wonder who would have wrecked first,Sam Hornish Jr. or Steve Wallace.

Dang. I knew it was too good to be true. I was just daydreaming of the day when Stephen will be playing ping pong at Talledega.

I could see Forrest Gump sitting on top of the War Wagon on pit road, on the headset, telling Stephen to "paddle" his way through the field:)

You have to remember that Rusty never did well in Nationwide, but did well in the Cup car.....Mabey Steven will do the same....... Yeah, who am I kidding!!!

Did you hear that the financial outfit they had on Stevens car last year declared bankruptcy owing RWR 1/2 a million?

Not defending Steven, but to add to your post, anyone remember how well Jimmie Johnson did in the Busch Series? My main memory of him is him standing on the roof of his car after he went through the sand at one of the road courses. Jeez, age is getting to me as I don't recall which one it was, but I sure do remember him going through the sand head on into the tires thinking this isn't good. Who would have thought this kid would become the super star he is today?

Watkins Glenn Turn 1

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. he has come quite a way in the Nationwide Series.

If hes anything like Kyle Busch or Scott Speed, he will be Andy's favorite driver in no time.

This is a guy that crashed in the garage once. He couldn't even make it on the track before he wrecked.

Not to defend Steven Wallace, as I really don't like the kid much, but he did have 9 top-10s in 2009, and finished 7th in NNS points. And 3 races into 2010 he's had 3 top-10 finishes.

I know we all remember his first couple years and all the crashed cars, but looking at his stats, he really has improved.
