someone please explain this to me....

ok ok..someone please explain the points to me...why in the hell is denny second place 35 points out of the leader??? why is matt kenseth 3rd 41 points out? and why does jeff get to finish ahead of all the other 8 chasers and be 4th and 50 points out?
 
You have to remember how many pts behind they started this race.

Denny scored 26 more pts than Matt in this race. He was 20 pts behind when the race started --- now Denny is 6 ahead.
