You seem to have a cruel streak!

A bit

I suppose...but I really like Mikey on TV...good guy and a real racer that I respect...it's just that he is making SO much money.

I would guess that he's not making so much money. He still has a payroll to meet and with the cars not making the race and/or running poorly there's not much purse money coming in. But he still has 3 teams at the races with travel, motels and food costs.
On INC he mentioned that his commentary on DirecTV Pit Pass paid about half of just his expenses for the Vegas weekend.

Flash in the pan ???? Looks a lot like what happened to Newman after his big year.

There could be a lot to that, but there is a major difference. Kahnes DNF's and poor finishes are not due to his driving or the car's handling and performance. Bad luck is what has propelled him to the rear and a stiff points penalty of 50 points. A top 20 finish at Bristol will go a long way in his move upwards. One thing that Kasey hasn't lost this year and that is his ability to qualify well.
