Looks like usar is dead but will be racing at concord with just the name pro cup. Saw it on usarfans.com

Doesn't sound like they will make it next year. They said on speed51 that only 12 cars started their last race and 8 finished. A lot of tracks aren't inviting them back because of the car count. I remember at the beginning of the year they changed the rules so that the Camping World East cars were legal to run in the series. I dont think that sat well with any of the regulars at the time. I miss this series in its hay day when Hooters was big in it. But o well best of luck to the new owners.

It's now called the CARS(Championship Auto Racing Series) Pro Cup Series... Why did they get rid of the USAR name? Take away the last little bit of identity the series had from back in the day (Although they did rarely mention the USAR name then anyway..). Now if someone sees this series on a tracks schedule they will have no idea what it is. The series is pointless anymore anyway....

It served its purpose while it was around. damn shame its over but a few of the stars from the good days made it up and are running well. I remember watching Trevor Bayne give the series a woopin' when he was 15. Ive seen several more back in the Late Model ranks and running well like Gary St. Amant. I think Jeff Agnew made the truck race at bristol the other night.
