K&N is definitely a much better replacement for a USAR race.

June 18th race is cancelled. UARA gets it instead.

Not surprising. How long until this series is dead? Clay Rogers, Benny Gordon and any of the drivers need to sell their stuff and get out before the **** completely hits the fan. The cars arent usable in any bigger series, so once the series is gone their stuff is worthless. They should just sell their cars, cut their loses and move on to something bigger and better like ARCA, K&N Pro Series, or Trucks...

Clay Rogers is working on an exit strategy, he's doing the ARCA/Nationwide/Trucks thing.

Benny is running at Daytona in ARCA and Nationwide. These guys need to get into a better series and run full time for the championship.

where did you see that the race is gone for USAR? Their site still lists it. Maybe they are just doing both races the same day ?

Benny could contend for an ARCA title for sure.

Most of those guys only run a few ARCA races because it makes no financial sense. Very expensive to run ARCA with very little to show for it, especially if it's not televised or if a big name is running a televised race and you won't get ANY air time even if you win.

I've heard the UARA is a good, healthy series. Saw their inaugural race during Thunderfest Weekend or whatever they called it at Rockingham 2009. Everyone said it was the best race of the year, but the quality (huge) and quantity (many) of crashes was torture.

I see USAR is racing at Shenandoah. I was wondering if Britt would try to bring them to ODS to replace the Langley races but I doubt USAR will bite because ODS' lack of facilities just isn't suitable for a national series like USAR... however, the Rolling Thunder Modifieds appear destined to make a trip to Manassas... it's been announced they were headed there, and ODS has it listed on their website but no date has been announced at all... if Britt does a little bit of work with that track, they have the potential for some big races.

The July race is going to be huge.

Even though pro cup is a lot cheaper, there is much less to show for it than ARCA. ARCA is very relevant, drivers like Scott Speed and McDowell coming out of it. Now they are going to have drivers like Ty Dillon. Pro cup barely has more credibility than UARA anymore...

lol, seen the USAR website lately? What happened? The old one was okay...

I had to look it up just cause you said that...wow its bad

Actually the joke is that ARCA went to MavTV and the following year didn't consider a deal with VERSUS because they never heard of it!

BWAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL: ROFLMAO! :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

I miss it when it was the Hooter Pro Cup series man it was a cool series. I loved watching Jeff Agnew and Benny Gordon and Trevor Bayne battle it out on the different short tracks. Damn shame when Hooters decided to cut ties with it.

Me too, used to watch all ther re-plays of the races on Speed, plus it didn't hurt that there were always Hooters' girls at the races!:growl:

It really was an awesome series back then. The founder of the series(and Hooters i think..) Died in 2006 and after that is when they started changing things (i think they did budget cuts and the schedule became much shorter). Too bad they had to kill one of the best stock car series in the US.

I don't know that it's dead yet. Is Larry Camp still in charge over there? If so, there's still hope.

USAR needs a decent broadcast package. Taped broadcast of races and a live radio platform.

It's some good racing. Best asphalt race I ever seen in person was USAR Pro Cup Series at Langley Speedway. The entire FOX Sports Net broadcast is on my YouTube page.

It's never gonna be as good as it was before though.

Nope. Sadly, the evil empire (NASCAR) is quickly taking over everything. ARCA's looking destined to fall as well. NASCAR's got a monopoly on stock car racing and the bigger they get, the worse it is for racers.

Well, with Hooters Pro Cup I think it was just nobody in the company/family gave a **** about racing, so once the old man died they got rid of it all. Hooters Pro Cup, USA International Speedway, they sold it all off not too long after he died.

I still got their first race at Iowa speedway on dvd somewhere. They were one of the first bigger series to run that track and it was really competitive. They went to a couple other short tracks that were cool to watch like hickory and there was Kil-Kare Speedway it was really wierd shaped and the drivers couldnt go full throttle at all around the place they had to constantly work the throttle to get around fast. The way i hear things now it sounds like this series might go the way that the old ASA went a bunch of arguements to where it just disappears. And now you got ASA around but everybody fights about it constantly.

Was looking at USARFans.com. They had 27 cars at the New Smyrna but only 22 started the race.... Kind of odd...
