Vacations are awesome

I took a much needed vacation this week.

I started out with a 7am tee time at a favorite golf course on monday. I then took the kids to lunch and then to see the newest Harry Potter movie.

I am taking them fishing this (tuesday) morning and then to the zoo this afternoon. I hope to finish up with a nice boat ride on the cuyahoga river this evening depending on their tiredness/crankiness.

We also plan on doing some bike riding some time this week. I got the wife and I new bikes so we can ride as a family.

I have some work around the house I have been putting off that I will get done this week also. I am planning to replace the block walkway from my front porch to the driveway with cement. It should be much easier to shovel when the white stuff comes back this winter. ;) I want to build a wall to seperate my work area from the rest of the basement and other stuff like that.

All in all, it is great not to have to worry about someone elses schedule for a week. No work, no hassles. It is a beautiful thing. :salute:
 
Sounds like fun man, enjoy it because it will be short and sweet.

Ended up swimming instead of the zoo. Just too dang hot and muggy. Swimming was fun. The kids had a blast, but we all got sunburnt. Did get the pontoon boat ride on the river. That was very cool. Learned a lot of history about the river and the islands we passed. Historic Indian chief lived on one of the islands but left to fight in the war of 1812. Pretty cool if you are into that kind of stuff.
